Samurai Jack Thread

She already sparked an internet sensation once they saw her extra thicc booty. :o

I do like how the latest episode made her redemption arc come full circle. That scene was symbolic of that.

Loving Ashi's arc (clicheic though it may be). I like the angle they took with Jack's exploits inspiring the people he's come into contact with throughout the years.

But yeah, really enjoying this season so far and the fact that it seems to be going somewhere, even though that obviously will be the end of the show.

What do people think of Aku's new voice? Personally, I think the VA comes across as trying too hard to sound like the old VA on occasions, but given the circumstances it's the best they could do and tbh he's got most of the mannerisms down to a tee.

I don't mind it as much as everyone else seems to, honestly.

It did at first, but I've gotten used to it. I don't think anyone can really replicate Mako's voice and inflections for Aku to a tee, really.

I'm good with Greg Baldwin's voicing of Aku... it's about as close as you're going to get to Mako's version...

Greg Baldwin was good tonight.

As was the rest of it. I'm feeling nostalgic as **** right now.

It helps that he got to play Aku as being his evil, giddy self, instead of someone suffering from ennui.

These last three episodes are going to be epic.

Preview for the next episode:

Yep. Whole season is 10 episodes, so only three are left.

Had a feeling this was gonna happen.

Jack and Ashi be smooshin', and the fandom be ragin'. :funny:

" 50 years have passed.... BUT, I have not nutted on an E X T R A T H I C C booty the entire ****ing time "

Let the man be , people.

The SJ fandom on Tumblr is a warzone. Do not go there at any cost. :funny:

Anyway, promo for the next episode:

at THIS point in time, isn't Jack
a little too old for Ashi?... she must have finally given in to her feelings for Jack when he poked her with his sword handle...
:funny:

He's basically in his 70's, though with the time anomaly in the last 50 years, he's still pretty much physically in his mid-twenties as well as mentally, I'd wager. It's just that before with the beard and brooding, it appeared like he was older.

I think Ashi's in her early 20's as well.

Pretty much the episode in a nutshell

It's pretty stupid. We could've spent the episode doing literally anything else instead of a forced romance.

There's no way the final battle won't be completely rushed. They only have two episodes left.

I reckon the next episode will start the final confrontation while the last will wrap everything up.

Some thought of Jack and Ashi as more a father/daughter relationship than a romantic one.

anyone think after this episode

ashi will die in the final battle ?

There are several 'reasons' that some people on there have stated (I read all of them) which are basically this:

- "It's pedophilia! Jack is in his 70's and Ashi's underage!" (though the show hasn't given any indication Ashi is a teenager, given her bath scene in episode 6; Jack is technically in his 70's, but has not aged due to the time anomaly and he's still pretty much in his mid-20's physically and at the moment psychologically; nevermind the fact that there are other cartoon pairings out there with the age gap thing. see Aang/Katara, Rose/Greg, Inuyasha, and every single vampire romance ever made, and I'm not seeing anybody complain about those);

- "I hate heterosexual relationships in media!" (don't need to comment on this one, since the biased stupidity speaks for itself);

- "It was forced and came out of nowhere!" (I'll give you the last scene, which caught me off-guard at first, but I think that was supposed to be the point. Anyway, their relationship has been foreshadowed/hinted on in previous episodes: the two deer foreshadowing in episode 3; Jack's puff hallucination in episode 4 - "What did you expect, a hug and a kiss?"; Ashi learning about Jack's legacy in episode 6, saving him from commiting seppuku, and his compliment towards her in the end; their small interaction at the end of episode 7. In retrospect, the signs were clearly there.);

- "People who ship it are morons/pedophiles/disgusting." (again, it speaks for itself).

Hm...never saw it that way. I always assumed what happened would happen.

I'm wondering that myself.

I'm leaning towards yes. Don't think Jack will have a completely happy ending.

if he makes it back to the past, she could simply cease to exist

I don't think the ending will be as black-and-white as it might appear.
Jack going back to the past would undo all the good he's done and all the people he's helped and befriended to no longer exist seems like enough of a bittersweet ending, but it's not the only likely one.

Other possibilities could be him going out Logan style and Ashi carrying on his legacy, him choosing to stay in the future, etc.
