Samurai Jack Thread

So, Goliath, about that "Jack goes back to the past" ending thing... :o

Seriously though, holy crap this episode. Finale's next week and no footage of it. I like the mystery. Hopefully it's 40+ minutes otherwise I think it might be incredibly rushed.

Also, rip Guardian and Scaramouche. :csad:

genndy shot my heart to pieces with that cliffhanger

This. It also gave a renewed sense of importance to what happened last episode.

I also thought this was Greg's best turn as Aku so far, the laugh was finally on point. It's kind of come across as him getting to grips with the voice throughout the season or maybe it was an intentional move to underline Aku's own 'depression' and lack of purpose.

But yeah, pumped for the finale. Scotsman's Force Ghost has to return, right?

Yep. Along with that army he talked about.

I'm pretty split on this one.

On one hand, it really sucked that we lost on that promised Guardian rematch, especially to make time for a rushed, unsatisfying relationship with Ashi.

On the other hand, that ending was fantastic. Aku was on his top-game, both in terms of character and his voice. That final shot was art.

Eh, I'm pretty fine with it actually. Though many people are split on it, I guess.

The second part of this episode was definitely the better part. The last panning shot was terrific, yeah.

Sad to see it end. But im glad they got to close the story out on their own terms.

That was emotionally satisfying and kinda bittersweet ending. Overall I'm happy.

agreed
emotionally bittersweet but it was the perfect ending

I won't pretend that I wouldn't have liked a 1-hour finale. Had some issues with the pacing in the final episode and it still ended up feeling a tad rushed.

HOWEVER...I also won't pretend that the ending we got was not a satisfying conclusion for the series and for Jack himself. That final shot/moment pretty brilliant. Also, Greg once again brought it as Aku, these two final episodes he was excellent.

Also,
'Flying monkeys?!'
had me in stitches. :awesome:

Well, that was...wow.

Even after a few hours I'm still not able to fully process it.

I was pretty happy with this conclusion. It wasn't perfect, but it left me feeling good and that's really all I could have asked for.

Well said, pretty much my feelings as well.

Any particular thoughts on this final season as a whole?

I'm glad we finally got to see a conclusion. I wasn't so hot on the Ashi character.

It was Gurren Lagann all over again, though it didn't fit this show as much.

I loved the inclusion of the old intro and the cameos.

anyone think after this episode

ashi will die in the final battle ?

I'm wondering that myself.

I'm leaning towards yes. Don't think Jack will have a completely happy ending.

...And so my incredible deductive skills, wisdom and reasoning once again prove to be superceded only by my humility.

I guess no humble pie for you, huh?... :funny:

I'm not sure how I feel. I didn't feel like it was bad or anything, but it's still all processing with me. The ending was great though. I guess I wish we'd gotten an extra ten minutes at least, if not a full hour instead of a regular episode.

If there's any valid criticism for the finale and the season, it's that some things felt rushed and could have benefited from more time. Another episode for the finale, maybe another 2-3 for the season altogether.

still a great finale

I forgot to share my thoughts on the final season. Overall, I liked it. I thought the finale felt a little rushed. But, it was a good ending.

I actually thought he wouldn't return to the past but just only defeat Aku in the future and let the world move on from there.

The season probably could've used another episode to flesh out some things and help the pacing. But overall it was a strong finale to the series. I was surprised by how sad the ending was. It seemed as though the conclusion could've gone a few different ways but the way they went was quiet, subtle, and bittersweet.

there is a marathon of season 5 Saturday at 11PM

that is right sorry I was not specific
