San Diego Comic-Con 2006-DC Edition

Nothing 'good' comes out of anything except really bad stories for you.

death of Pa Kent and...which other story? hopefully not the marriage of wonder woman:(

i can guarantee you that kid will be the franklin richards of the dcu ,never to be allowed to grow up, which would mean the aging of all the characters in the DCU. the whole thing is rather pointless.

Thats the problem with heroes having kids.

Superman is so getting a baby.

I predicted it as the credits rolled on the movie and the comic geeks around me freaked out.

But it's true. :o

DC has a way of making it's TV shows/Movies match on some level.

Lois and Clark get married in the TV show.

Lois and Clark get married in the Comics.

Lois and Superman have a baby in the movies.

Lois and Superman have a baby in the comics.

Yeah? Yeah?????

YOu think I didn't appreciate the dirty looks and stray popcorn kernals! Well I did.

*pff*

Dusting off a female comic geek like that....

Yeah it pissed me off that Up,Up, and away was pretty much a freaking movie tie-in.

Wait...they're making a Doom Patrol movie??

I am so behind the times...

I haven't seen Superman Returns yet (it's going to be released here in about a month I think). :( Then again, Assassin already blew one half of that tidbit of info anyway. I'm not blaming you Twy.

I'm most excited about the return of the JSA and Infinity Inc. :D

Thanks 'Phere.

As the creators ran down the lists of their current work, Paul Dini announced that he is working on a Black Canary/Zatanna hardcover graphic novel, with art by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti.

I love Levitz. :D

And then DC cries when Joey Q takes a cheap shot at DC. I always find that funny.

Either way, DC/WB have always been on top of Marvel in the animation department so they really dont have anything to worry about.

The Batman and Legion of Super-Heroes might beg to differ there. :o

Well, it's true. :p

Meh, Ultimate Avengers was pretty average anyway.

marvel has to be shooting themselves.....because DC's DTV's are gonna make Marvels DTVS look like Catwoman....lol....

I think if Marvel got away from using Ultimate version of the characters and focused on actually telling one of their greater stories theyll be fine. Its like Ultimate Avengers couldnt decide whether it wanted to be S:TAS or Spawn on HBO.

With stuff like The New Frontier and The Judas Contract lined up to be faithfully adapted (with the original artists involved with the movies' art departments, no less), that definitely looks like it'll be the case.

If DC decides to adapt DKR or Kingdom Come....Marvel should just stop trying with cartoons....period...

Because you cant watch both right?

its not that...its just that marvel cartoons will look so inferior by comparison...marvel should be putting out good cartoons....its just that they refuse to.

Umm you saw screencaps of these DC cartoons already? As Corp said, look at The Batman and SUperman and the Legion of SUperheroes.

I'm curious to see how Cooke and Perez's styles will be adapted to work on the screen. If it turns out as well as The Amazing Screw-On Head's adaptation of Mignola's work, I'll be ecstatic.

Well, stories and character designs aside, The Batman does at least have pretty slick animation. It flows very well, as opposed to the decent but not really noteworthy animation of Ultimate Avengers.

Ugh.

I agree. I saw Hal and skipped over the cover to read the article at Newsarama, then I got to the bit about Perez's cover of The Brave and the Bold. When it said "guess who's on the cover" I thought of Waid's badass mini and guessed GL and Flash, got all excited, then scrolled up to see Hal and Batman. What a disappointment. :o
