I have to say I think I am most excited about Black Widow's arc in this film. It doesn't hurt that she's my favorite comic book character just above Batman. I am really hoping for her story allows her character to get fleshed out more. Hoping the moment she tells Steve she's on Stark's side is an emotional one. These characters have grown close and I hope we see that in this film.

And I hope she kicks so much butt. I would love to see her and Cap square off.

Welcome to the forums!

It's going to be kind of sad the rift that's going to be between Natasha and Clint now. Especially since "Aunt Nattie" is one of the few people who knows where Clint's family is; the old Black Widow would totally use that against him.

"Oh, hey Nat, thanks for bringing the roast turkey."

"It's not a turkey. You wonder why we never see Falcon with Redwing in these movies?"

:(

LOL!! That's horrible and very very funny. There's so much I want for Nat for this movie and I'm having a really hard time not having high expectations.

I really wonder what the status of their friendship will be at the end- we know they are joking together during their fight but I wonder if that will actually resonate ("we are still friends, right?") by the end.

That's the biggest question in this film for me. How are the relationships going to be altered after this. The Russos said the mcu will forever be changed after this so I am assuming friendships are broken for good or at least a while.

I'm thinking her and Clint will patch up their friendship pretty easily. It's Natasha's relationship with Steve that I wonder about. The Russos said her relationship with Steve is deep and that their relationship is taken to the next level in this film (what does that mean???) there is no way Steve does not feel betrayed when Nat chooses Tony's side.

Maybe. I feel the relationship between Nat and Clint is deeper and the split more painful; they've been through hell and back together, moreso than she's done with Steve, and she's one of the few people on Earth Clint has allowed into his family life.

On some level, even in TWS both Steve and Nat must have known that one day one of them will have to pull the trigger on the other (metaphorically, I hope), as their respective views on their line of work are just so different.

I was half expecting it to be a bomb! Then again, she's a bit cold, but not diabolical.

It'll be interesting to be sure. I feel like Steve and Natasha have a sibling-like relationship and Natasha and Clint have a soulmate type of relationship (non romantic at this point obviously)- I feel like at some point Steve is going to be like "Clint was brainwashed too, what would you do if this was him?" So they have parallel relationships with their best friends.

Clint though according to Renner isn't that heavily invested so it more of a bureaucratic divide with BW. They'll get over and it and it will be life as usual.

Whereas Steve is heavily invested, philosophically and personally and BW's lack of support and specifically hunting him down becomes a rather personal betrayal.

I think Marvel is going down the route where Nat's relationship with Cap is more important than her relationship with Clint. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case because Hawkeye is almost irrelevant in the mcu. Widow is the leading lady of the mcu so it makes sense for her to grow a strong bond with one of the two leading men of the mcu.

I like Civil War version the most. It's like a perfect combination of IM2 and CA:WS. I don't like Whedon's short hair version, makes her look "girly". I can't take her seriously with short hair.

I think the issue with the Hawkeye/Widow relationship is that it had already developed into a deep friendship before the movies even began. The fans don't get to discover things along with the characters because it's all happened off screen.

The audience was there to see the first meeting between Steve and Nat. The Russos themselves did most of the heavy lifting in developing the relationship. Now we get to watch this relationship we've seen since its beginning grow, change, and mature over the course of time.

Agreed. I've always hated that Whedon kept giving her the short hair. But yeah, her CW look is the best thus far.

I like the straight hair in TWS best.
This 6th outing as Black Widow will be her first post child birth, as whilst filming AoU she was preggers with her first child.

Obviously a womans body is never as good as it was post child, and SJ is known for her body, but then she's got that catsuit to lift everything so we'd not be able to tell the difference anyway.
