The Avengers Scarlett Johansson is the Black Widow

She was so much better. I liked her in IM2 bu also felt she was a bit of a throwaway character. Here she was important to the plot but also just seemed a lot sharper and switched on.

Not sure where to put this; My Black Widow (comic) fan music vid.

I loved her in the movie. She was the least strongest member of the Avengers but she still kicked butt and I loved it when she jumped in one of the vehicles of the Aliens.
That was a great moment.

I agree that she was mentally switched on all the time and felt like a spy.

I prefer her hair in Iron Man 2!

I hope she will have a longer hair in Avengers 2!

Me too, looks more professional and mature...

Well, the hair anyway hahaha

I guess I never really realized how different her uniform is in The Avengers when compared to her IM2 one. Her BW logo is much larger and brighter and the belt is connected to both her holsters. The Widow's Bites are also now black, as opposed to a goldish hue in IM2.

I really like how she was handled in the movie, she fit in well amongst the high powered heroes and had some great action scenes and a brilliant scene with Loki as well as good scenes with Banner and Hawkeye.

Hawkeye accompanies Black Widow to get her star on the walk of fame. :D

Agent Coulson was there, too. All they needed was SamJack for a SHIELD reunion.

Did anyone read the Wired interview with Joss? I guess Marvel were considering not having Widow in the film...

Marvel actually bounced Whedon’s first drafts of the script. At one point it looked like the company might not use the Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson; Whedon told Marvel that without her the Helicarrier was going to feel like a gay cruise.

:hehe:

Some other interesting portions, not necessarily Widow related tho...

So in March 2010 he went to the meeting with Feige intending simply to give his take on the script. What Whedon heard himself saying about it surprised even him. “I don’t think you have anything,” he said. “You need to pretend this draft never happened.” He agreed to write a five-page story memo to tell the studio what he’d do with the movie. “In the process of writing it, I got that bug,” Whedon says. “I realized, oh, yeah, this would be so much fun.” Whedon pauses and adopts a mock-wistful look. “I was so young. So young.”

Marvel went for his angle—with some restrictions. Whedon would have just 92 days to shoot, and the postproduction schedule was going to be brutally tight. The company told him the villain had to be the evil god Loki, from Thor. Execs said the movie had to have a big fight among the Avengers. They wanted a set piece in the middle that tore the team apart somehow. And there had to be an epic final battle. “I was like, great, you just gave me your three acts,” Whedon says. “Now all I have to do is justify getting to those places and beyond them.” He was in.

Black Widow kinda saved the day. She identified and fixed the problem with the portal. She's awesome. Would LOVE to see a movie starring her.
