Scooby-Doo Heading Back to the Big Screen

This has got to be CG animated right? That's got to be the main reason they are releasing it in theaters? But they just said animated...so I dunno.

Make it like this...

^ That has such an awesome look. Why don't they ever do the 2D animation on top of live action anymore? Like they did in Space Jam and Who Framed Roger Rabbit... it looks so badass.

the animation style has gone down in quality, and the characters keep getting more abstract and one dimensional with each modern day adaptation...

so, I hope they take the style back the the shows routes

Is that last one a joke? I like the Mystery Inc animation and designs the most. That show was also good.

Yeah, I liked that Mystery Incorporated didn't feel the need to stick to the exact same art style as the dozen shows that came before it.

That new show, though.

There's something wrong with Shaggy's knees... Edit: And Fred's

They look like the Rick and Morty version of the Scooby Doo gang.

What with key personnel from "Mystery Incorporated" directing (he also did Space Jam), I think the characters will close to their 'classic' look.

I think they looked best in the late 90s to early 2000s when they kickstarted the DTV movies with Zombie Island. It was basically the old designs with awesome shading.

the new show design looks awful

excited to see a new big screen scooby movie

Hanna-Barbera universe...

First, I'm hearing WB is toying to make a push for delivering a type of Hanna-Barbera universe like they are with DC and Lego

Besides SCOOBY DOO, expect news on TOM AND JERRY and FLINTSTONES movie and possibly a JETSONS movie coming out soon now that SCOOBY is dated

Since SCOOBY is an animated feature, don't know if these films will have cross-over compatibility like in DC universe

I'd be down for a Hanna-Barbera universe you know. My childhood coming to life on the big screen.

Hope it is more in vain of Zombie Island and Mystery Inc. then any other current version of the series.

CG animated Jetsons film, please. Don't bother with live action. Do something Lego/Pixar-esque.

But hey, WB, if you're aiming to make your animated properties a big deal, HOW ABOUT F***ING LOONEY TUNES?!?

Sadly it's not. It's WBs new thing with their old characters, Bugs Bunny is getting a somewhat similar adaption in his new series.

They'll be in Space Jam 2 with Lebron, Sawyer. :o

Once again, we have just as much information as you have.

I find it very sketchy they wouldn't say whether its CG or 2D in the press release.

Could always go for more good Scooby Doo, glad the mystery inc guys is involved

In all honesty, in this day and age, if we're getting an animated movie on the big screen, I think there's about a 90-95% chance it will be CG.

But yeah, it is odd they didn't say outright.

In the THR article WB are hinting at the Hanna Barbera universe.

Warners, which will release the movie under its Warner Animation Group banner, is hoping the movie leads to a series of movies featuring characters from the stable of Hanna-Barbera, the animation powerhouse that ruled the airwaves in the 1960s and early 1970s.
Said president of creative development and worldwide production, Greg Silverman: "Like countless fans, I have always loved the Hanna-Barbera cast of characters. As one of their most famous brand ambassadors, Scooby-Doo will take the lead in re-introducing this pantheon of enduringly popular animated stars on a grand scale with an exciting new movie."
