Scooby Doo Prequel In 2009{Direct To DVD}

Yea two details i didnt like was velma actress being asian, and freddy's actor not being blonde. But overall it was a decent film. Though if it was really to be a prequel to the two live action films they did make some mistakes. Though i did like scooby in the film and i think shaggy's actor was the best of the bunch. Also was neat it was shot in canada and i noticed locations used in other shows like smallville and what not. But all and all pretty decent scooby flix.

This was better than I thought it would be. The main problem I had though was that the ghosts were real{normally this wouldn't bother me but considering it's supposed to be a prequel...}.

The plot was kinda silly, but it was okay. Not as bad as the other live-action movies. What I did enjoy the most was the recreation of the opening credits at the end. That was cool. Also, Daphne here was actually, you know, hot. The way she's supposed to be! :o

What Scooby Doo plot isn't?

the cast was good, but for continuity, I still wished Fred were blonde and Daphne was played by someone like Sara Paxton (has more of the Sarah Michelle Gellar look)... but the movie was decent, though I missed the beginning...

oh and the Ben 10 live action movie looked really good for a TV movie

Sequel is on the way I guess. I'll be watching. My review's somewhere in the last movie forum. But I liked it. It was better than I thought it was gonna be. The next movie should focus on Fred becoming more of a leader type.

Watched the encore presentation of this on CN.

I thought this was going to be crap but it was actually pretty good. Really enjoyed it and thought the cast had great chemistry. The acting was pretty good too.

The way it was presented felt like a mesh between the 70's series and "A Pup Named Scooby Doo".

Next movie we need to have some bikini Daphne scene because damn, she only made me love redheads more...

And velma looks damn good in the disguise scene.

Daphne was pretty damn hot as was Velma. I too have a thing for red heads so seeing a Daphne with plumpness in all the right areas was great to see.

They covered her up a bit to much though. Velma exposed cleavage while Daphne didn't? :(

Hopefully in the sequel we see more of this girls body. HOLY CRUD!? Just did a quick Wiki search and she is only 17!!!? Velma too.

What the heck. I thought they were all in their early 20's.

^We're going to jail.

Nice to hear the rating did well for the tv airing, if the dvds sell well which its likely going to. We will probably hear officially when that second movie that was rumored/talked about for awhile is to go into production.

I saw your review and I have to respectfully disagree with you about the CG Scooby. It's certainly not great, but he does look more like his cartoon self, which I think is a good thing.:cwink:

This was cool.

This isn't the kind of big production that gets that kind of special deal. You'd be lucky to find a store that will most likely put the first two movies on sale.
Neither are the DC animated movies, and a couple of those got store exclusives{don't remember which ones}.

Yeah, but they come with toys. From a toy line that are at major stores. Scooby doo doesn't have a toy line. Only plush toys, and thats rare.

Is this film a sequel to the theatrical films, because I was watching SD2 today and there was a flashback sequence with a much younger Mystery Gang and much smaller Scooby playing frisbee in the film, which I'd totally forgotten all about... so, in short, is SD: The Mystery Begins suppose to be a reboot?

Prequel/reboot of sorts. I guess we can pretend it takes place in another scoobyverse timeline.

That's not entirely true. Oh you can go out now and buy Scooby Doo "toys", not just plushes. Plus there was a slew of Scooby Doo merchandise back around the late 90s/early 00s{INCLUDING a toy line}.

And I don't remember any of the DC movies coming with any figures.

True it did look more like him. But it was a tv movie so I'll let it pass. Hopefully in the next one they can improve upon it though.

And yeah that ending was really great.

17?! Yes! Oh, finally! A hot actress who's actually my age for once.

Yeah I thought they were in their early 20's too.

You know, I watched the first few minutes of the first movie after watching this, and it made me realize how much Freddie Prinze Jr. and SMG sucked in that movie.

Yeah, Freddie was the wrong choice. Geller was alirght but she didn't have the spirit of Daphne to me. This new chick was great as her. Alot better.

You gotta love Lillard though. Though when he stares he sometimes looks stoned.
