Scooby Doo Prequel In 2009{Direct To DVD}

Yeah, Freddie was the wrong choice. Geller was alirght but she didn't have the spirit of Daphne to me. This new chick was great as her. Alot better.

You gotta love Lillard though. Though when he stares he sometimes looks stoned.

That's why it worked.

I think Freddie PJ and Sarah MG were great choices for their roles... the entire cast eerily looked like the cartoons come to life onscreen, but what really I liked about the original cast was that they were all comedians thrown into a haunted mystery story, just like the original Scooby cartoon series... (I was watching this on youtube and essentially Scooby Doo, was comedy meets adventure, but with really scary bad guys) and I think that's why they were cast in the first film... the cast is hillarious...

though I do think they put Fred, Daphne and Velma on the backburner in favor of Shag and Scooby in the sequel and neglected to use all the comedic talent they had, like in the first film

Freddie PJ... pulled of the all american hearthrob
Sarah MG.... nailed the materialistic damsel in distress
Linda C....... no one could be a better snarky know it all
Matt L........ was perfect as the goofy "chicken"

So...wait...this was actually....good?

Color me surprised it didn't look very good at all from the teasers/trailers. I loved the two theaterical movies though, so will I enjoy this?

i guess the expectations were zero. so that makes it good then he he :)

whats on it?

I don't know. All it says is "Eclusive Bonus Disc".

It will probably just be a digital copy of the movie.

The Blu-Ray will be a 3 disc set which will include, Blu-Ray + DVD copy of the movie & a digital copy of the movie.

Or it could be just the behind the scenes clips they showed on Cartoon Network, or just a couple of tv episodes.

Prequel/reboot of sorts. I guess we can pretend it takes place in another scoobyverse timeline.

Well Scooby-Doo series do reboots all the time and some times act as if the other shows never happened. Same thing I suppose can happen here. Wonder if the actors would come back for the second one. I thought the guy who did Shaggy was pretty good, best actor of the bunch and to me he passed off as Shaggy. They always seem to find really good choices for the character. I just wish they'd have had Freds hair blond, that really bothered me the entire movie. Maybe the next one will show Fred die his hair blond :oldrazz:

At least do something with the hair. How was getting a blonde actor a problem? Or one that could actually do more than stand there and give awkward looks and smiles?

no, dont think thats it because its already suppose to have all 3 of them.

Freddie didn't fit right at all but I liked the first scooby doo never got around to seeing the second, This new Daphne is hot , I'll have to check this out , it looks decent .

Lillard had the voice down perfect and I think he is always stoned

This new Shaggy puts too much emphasis on the "oo" sound in "Scooby", in general there's too much emphasis in the Shaggy voice.

The movie was pretty good for a Direct to DVD. I know there's some hardcore fans out there who are just swearing their throats sore but whatever, it's their lose.

Wow. I'm surprised. I really liked it. It was cute and the cast was pretty good. The weakest of the bunch was definitely Fred, hopefully if there's a sequel he'll improve and get blonde hair.

I liked the origins of the Mystery Machine and Scooby Snacks, they actually made sense.

I kind of wish Cartoon Network would pick this up as a live action series. I know that kills the point of the network but it would be kind of cool. Give it 13 episodes and it could be pretty cool.

I read on Nick Palatas's Facebook Page that Robbie(Fred) was gonna have blonde hair but when he tried on wigs and such he looked stupid. something like that.

He couldn't just dye his hair?

this is what it said, and it was published back in april.
I know this will come up many more times, lol, so I will go ahead and write a note.

No, Robbie didn't dye his hair blonde. I know that Fred has always had blonde hair, but not this time. The reason for this is actually quite simple, he looked really stupid with blonde hair! Haha, I know it's harsh to say, but we all agree on it. He just looks much better with his natural hair. He tried on a wig and it didn't work.

And yes, Hayley is Asian...ish. Quite frankly, in this day and age of uber-political-correctness, it's amazing that they didn't require one of us to be black, one to be Asian, one to be Hispanic, and only THEN could one be white. But seriously, she totally rocks as Velma anyway. Trust me, after the first like 2 seconds of the movie, you won't even notice it. The ethnicity difference is seamless.

Who knows, maybe you'll even like them better this way! A dark-haired Fred and an Asian Velma!

Woot.

Nick
