Days of Future Past Scoring Days of Future Past - The Soundtrack/Music Thread

Keep in mind these tracks aren't complete. Like most OSTs. It gives you a good idea and all, but they are slightly modified for the film and there is so much more!

For example the "logan arrives" and a few other tracks dont have the 70s "Chika-chika" sound anywhere lol. Theres a good bit of that missing.

The soundtrack is AWESOME! I Love the use of the X2 theme and it is not just used for the main titles, it is subtly used throughout the score and the end credits. I thought the Charles Xavier theme was really good too and some parts of his theme remind me of Inception "Time".

Either I missed it, but some people said they heard the Magneto theme from First Class in the film, but I haven't heard it yet in the score. Has anyone else found it?

Magnetos FC them is at the end of "times up"

Thats what I've been saying lol. Its great isn't it?

It really is! :hrt:

Edit: And thanks Ene. I'm gonna listen to the whole thing after I've seen the movie :)

Is this a part of "Building Bridges" I hear! They really used a lot of the greats from past films!

Ah, so that's the track. I remember it watching the film during [blackout]the opening battle[/blackout]

Ottman said in an interview how much he hates music inconsistency in comic book films.

YES! I found it, sounds so good. Obviously they've revamped the theme slightly, but it is still there.

The score is really great and finally there is some continuity with the scores using themes from X2 and First Class combining them together.

On the Pentagon Plan - Sneaky Mystique, it's a minor quibble, but I would of liked to have heard the little Mystique theme from X2 in the score, but we didn't, even though they've named it the same track as X2.

JP did you get the DL?

I have faith in you - Goodbyes

Welcome Back - End titles

Are the tracks I believe they were playing at the premiere red carpet. They might have played main titles too, but its quite abrupt compared to what I remember lol.

Oh theres a reason why its called "sneaky mystique" *not a big spoiler*[BLACKOUT] the whole scene is a direct callback from the "sneaky mystique" scene in X2, not just because of the music[/BLACKOUT] and the music I think is great anyway, even if its not as similar.

Ottman mixed Magneto's FC theme and "Building Bridges" into one track during "Time's Up", how fitting!

Bravo! Listening to it all is giving me so many feels, so many!

Nope I'm at work right now.

Welcome Back- End titles just made me replay shot-for-shot the ending of X2 in Xavier's office leading to Alkalai lake. It's all blended so beautifully.

Those returning emotional cues from X2 really made me quite emotional. Its in other parts of the movie too, that aren't really present in the soundtrack.

If I even hear a glimmer of X2's Phoenix theme in the film I'll absolutely lose my mind! Less than a week. Thursday night at 10pm needs to be tomorrow.

Do you think this is the best X-Men score?

I think it is because I think it is a great combination of X2, First Class and Inception (in a good way). It also has some great 70's music selections.

It is not bootlegged material, so I don't see why it can't be posted on here?

If it requires a form of payment to own, and said individuals are not, we are therefore obtaining it illegally. Which is why it can't be posted.

I'll be buying it Monday.

Its very hard to say. I need a complete OST, because theres so much missing! I think its a bit more all over the place when compared to X2. Like you said, its a combination of various things. X3 had some of the best work in the franchise for being one of, if not the worst movie. The Dark Phoenix theme still gives me chills even if the storyline was completely thrown away.

I love Harry Gregson Williams and his Origins Score. Again, great work for a terrible movie.

I do love every score for each of the X-Films, so its hard to pick a favorite. I think this X2 theme is much better and more refined here, but some tracks are forgettable. Im also missing an epic 7-8 minute Suite like we have on the X2 OST! That thing was beautiful. I feel like we needed a special sentinel theme too, something felt missing. I would have liked slightly more FC music involved aswell. I think this score works much better in context though!

I love the future music, the return and refinement of the X2 theme is what Ive been waiting on, but it doesn't measure up to the likes of Man of Steel, TDKR or ASM2 for me. Or maybe I just have an hard on for Hans Zimmer lately lol.

It certainly beats the poop out of every MCU film though!
