What I'm wondering is what music plays during Quicksilver's scene when he breaks out Magneto.

I'm going to assume the one titled "Springing Erik". It does have a quirky vibe to it, which very much sounds like Quicksilver in this.

I can really see some intense action scenes with some of these tracks, especially in "Time's Up" and "The Attack Begins", some really great pieces. I love the incorporation of electronic bits, kind of reminds me of Bladerunner/Terminator/Escape from New York soundtrack music. I also love the return of the Gregorian like chant/choir in a few places, that was my favorite part used in the X2 score.

PS, I have a sneaking suspision:

the beginning part of "The Attack Begins" is where Storm gets sneaked attacked and killed. Sounds like it's going to be a particularly powerful and tragic death scene, more so than any other featured in the film

Keep in mind the OST just gives a little taste. The music is different(as with most OSTs), and there is music missing from this OST.

That's what I was hoping. Just like how a lot of fans complained that the music during the monorail scene near the end of Batman Begins was never on the original soundtrack.

Is there anywhere to hear samples of the soundtrack?
I'm curious if the score sounds different in future scenes than the past scenes. I imagine a dark terminator-y sound for the future.

I listened to the album 5X times... still not sure which track is memorable enough like one of the Star Wars music... that just seem to be lacking!


It's good, but NOT memorable enough is going to make it lose some points. This is what composers need to do, not just make beautiful music, but also make it recognizable and memorable it is played at popular culture events like what Star Wars music was able to do ALL the time.

So, 6-7/10 score


Best piece is not even any of the action scores I have to say Hope (Xavier's theme) is the WINNER!

I don't think John Ottman has created any memorable or iconic scores. I like his score for X2 but since then he's just been Singer's default composer/editor. I'm not knocking his talents as he's a capable composer but there are better out there working today. They just aren't buddies with Singer

Time's Up - my 2nd favorite. Action music, but it's still not that memorable though.

I m disapointed by the score even if the main thème return is great. Xavier s thème is Nice too but the rest is not mémorable. We CAN barely hear magnéto thème but it is butchered... Such a shame

Can't wait to hear this! Wish I could get the soundtrack but its not out on anywhere digitally in the UK this week. I really want to hear the new X2 theme I've been hearing so much about as it sounds like its really epic! Suspense to hear it is killing me!

I've been avoiding spoilers like crazy, to the point that I'm not even reading the track list, I have however heard the first track "The Future - Main Titles" and the slow build to the return of the main theme from X2 is amazing, at first I thought it was gonna be a really small quotation of it, but then it just explodes, I thank God that I heard it home cause had I heard it on screen for the first time I would have screamed like a crazy person.
