Agreed!

When ghostface took off the mask to reveal that Jill is the killer, everyone in the audience in my theater gasped, lol. This felt like Scream, and I couldn't be happier. Seeing it again on monday.

Yeah, it was pretty surreal. I mean I'm at fault myself for underestimating a teenage girl could be a killer. I never thought they could pull it off. But Christ, she was pychotic as all the other killers. This attention seeking ***** turned psychotic. I love the idea. Maybe being a teenager and in high school, this seems very believable to me. It's more of addressing an issue more than anything. For a long time I've even been saying people will do anything these days to get attention, and with the technology today it's possible. Anyone can be an internet sensation. Look at Rebecca Black for ****'s sake. Think of Jill as a psychotic version of that who just kills to get attention instead. The media of course eats this up. Scream 4 does this in a brilliant way.

I'm listening to Red Right Hand right now. Man, why wasn't it in this? That was the only thing missing in this. To me that song always lended to the tone of this series. Eerie but whimsical.

In the end credits, I was waiting but alas...

I missed it too, but the soundtrack was pretty nice as is.

So do you think they will have made a Stab remake based on what Jill and Charlie did if they do Scream 5? Or do you think this will be Stab's goodbye?

Yeah, it was. But it still not the same if it doesn't have the song.

A remake of a remake is a bit much. You can only do so much of this self parody stuff until it goes too far and becomes ridiculous. You don't want it to look like they're taking advantage of these things in order to just come up with a plot on the whim.

Possibly after all this happens the Stab franchise is dead and no one seems to care about it anymore. Then the killer wants to make people to care again. It may sound weak, but I put my faith in Williamson. He even has a sixth one in mind. I mean Jesus, I can't even come up with a fifth one to save my life.

I mean would you say the killer was trying to reboot events in this film as well? Because of this was more of the remake then the fifth can be the reboot.

I did like that poppy rock intro at the beginning after the titles. Nice soundtrack dissonance.

Such a fun ****in time at the movies. Man, it feels good to go into a Scream movie fresh, not knowing the identity of the killers, and trying to figure it out on your own. I've definitely missed this series for the past decade.

I really enjoyed it. This movie has so many nods and homages to the original, while still presenting us with a bold, new story, and I love that it was a remake/reboot...but it really wasn't. Anyone who has seen it will know what I mean.

My only gripes:

- Lack of material for Dewey. He spends the entire film getting calls from people and saying "On my way!"...but he never gets there in time or has anything interesting to contribute to the story
- Scre4m veers into borderline absurdity a few times, similar to Scream 3. The overall tone is a leeeeetle too light for my tastes and I think they could have replaced some of the zany moments with a few eerie ones.

What I loved:

- Loved the structure and pacing of the film. Characters duck in and out of the story at random, but it works because it shows that anyone is a suspect
- All Ghostface action was AWESOME and nicely brutal. You could tell this killer relished some of these kills and really enjoyed watching them
- The opening, and ending(s)

Any fan of the series should be able to really enjoy and respect what this film is and what it represents. IT'S A SCREAM, BABY!!!!

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but let's all stop with the harsh words if you please. "Licking eachother's asses" is one of those things.

As in general, we can all disagree and our emotions can get in the way and it's a knee jerk reaction, but let's be reasonable when we're discussing our opinions. Some people loved it like myself, others didn't. That happens with every movie. Just because a certain group loves a movie when another hates it or vice versa doesn't mean we can't be reasonable.

No one's opinion here is pathetic. Nor is it right. We either agree or disagree with our opinions and we're free to discuss it how we please. There's nothing wrong with some debate, but we're all adults here. No need for something to get out of hand because of a disagreement in opinion.
Why are you only responding to my post? It feels like you think that I am the trouble causer. I gave it a bad review and somebody accused me of not giving the movie a chance. I'm going to defend myself when that happens.

Do it. Dont let anyone shoot down your opinion. Negative or not.

I'm sure i'll disagree with you, but that means **** nothing.

I welcome an arguement about the actual film but don't accuse me of being some *****e with a vendetta just because I didn't like it.

It's disappointing that DJ is seemingly buying into to the false narrative that I am a trouble causer just because I defended myself against an annoying accusation.

I'm sorry. I just see you do it alot and it seems to me you do it mostly to troll and get a reaction, but if not then, I apologize. Let's just get back to the topic at hand, Scream 4.

your brother literally wanted to cry??.....over a movie???,even if there were happy tears is there actually people investing actual emotions like crying for joy or hatred over a damn movie??

I understand emotional moments in movies and I have teared up before But to actually cry and especially over a horror movie just surprises&shocks me!

No not literally. Yeesh. That was his way of voicing his disappointment in the film. He said today there is no way it's better than pt. 1 or 2, and about the same as part 3. He said it didn't feel like part of the original series, who the killer was is painfully obvious and the humour was borderline "Scary Movie."

I would agree that the mystery is fairly obvious, but the humor was very witty and not "Scary Movie" territory.

I just got back from seeing this a second time. I loved it as much as the first time! And I still jumped and cringed at certain parts.

I did like how they basically poked fun at how the term "meta" is such an internet speak thing to say.

I also noticed [blackout]the bronze Principal Himbry bust in the hallway near Jill's locker.[/blackout]

Just got back from seeing the fourth installment in this franchise. While I wont be harsh on the movie itself for having to endure tons of teenagers yelling at the screen and saying stuff like "lookout" thinking that is the it thing to do now a days, I will say I did enjoy this movie on some levels.

Lets start with the negatives

- The main motive of jill and the culkin brother were very weak and didnt add up to much in comparison to past killers.
- How am I suppose to buy a small Lanky 17 year old girl as being able to kill countless people and beat the sit out of a sheriff and also know how to use a gun? The culkin brother I will give ya because he looked like he had the killer factor in him.
- It felt extremely comical when jill started beating herself up and I didnt feel the terror that the director was going for.
- Why did this movie have to go on another 10 minutes past the house? Why not have sydney stand up while jill was on a stretcher and have her arressted in front of the press and destroy her dreams and have it mean something, sort of like her hopes and dreams just backfired.
- Why did they feel a need to rip off the kills and ending from scream 1? I know the theme was remakes and endless sequels but come on, If Im going to pay $22 for two tickets give me something new and fresh. Ive seen the hospital bit countless times like U.S. Marshalls for one.

The positives

- The opening kill was good and set the tone quite nicely I thought.
- The majority of the cast came off very well and Hayden was as beautiful as ever.
- The story was much more engaging then 2 and 3
- The kills were very good.
- I liked how they used technology like the Iphones, etc.

I really don't understand problems with the motive. It fit perfectly with the way today's world works.

how so? I would love to hear it because the whole [BLACKOUT]Jeasouly angle just wasnt working for me, also maybe Its me but the whole of comparing themselves to billy and stu was an insult to the original. [/BLACKOUT]

I liked it also Marx.

Jill's motive was not jealousy. Jill's motive was wanting to be famous. She was the mastermind behind it all. Charlie was a pawn. She said that 'the world loves a sole survivor'...and that would get her more attention.

In today's world, some people are famous for being famous. They have bad things happen to them and they become stars. That is exactly what Jill was trying to do.

And I don't think they were comparing themselves to Billy and Stu. Jill and Charlie were trying to mimic what Billy and Stu did to try and get away with the murders. I saw it as an homage...not an insult.

I sure agree with you 100%!

Or lack of originality. It just felt like a retread of the original and more like that scene was a deleted scene that wes had lying around the original with different actors.

Well...you have to keep in mind that this was a 'remake/reboot' but not really. The entire movie was a direct shot at all of the remakes that have come out.

Sidney: You forgot one thing about remakes. Don't f*** with the original!

This was not a remake/reboot, I'm sick and tired of hearing that.

Except the killer was making a remake. So yes. It's a reboot of the series because the killer was starting a reboot in Woodsboro.
