You'd be surprised. Twitter is stalked by movie studios now. Celebs use it as a career tool, etc.

I think Twitter has it's uses. Like, keeping up on current events in the news or movie productions. I've also spoke to a few of my favourite comic book creators on there about their work, which was really interesting.

But I don't think just because something trends on there it means much in the real world.

^^ I've talked to A few Spider-Man comic book witers such as Len Wein I think) as well as Tobey maguire.

You don't understand Twitter do you? When someone hash tags Scream 4? It's because they are either watching/about to watch Scream 4 or want to see Scream 4. That's what people do. It shows a desire and demand for the movie and that's it's popular enough t to capture teenagers attention of the biggest social media website this side of Facebook.

Teenagers tweet just about every moment of their lives nowadays. So yeah. It is sort of a big deal.

Billy is right! There's a reason #GameofThrones being a premoted hashtag, they want people to watch it.

My favorite
line from Ghostface in this film is "I'll cut off your eye lids so that you don't blink when I stab you in the face."

Haha. Mine is..

His increasing announce at being called Trevor. ''This isn't ****ING Trevor." or ''You don't sound like you're in the hospital Rebecca? You sound like you're in a cold dark, desolate parking garage."

Yeah, I did as well, Aesop.
It was nice seeing Ghostface take a giant s*** on the technology alot of high school kids use this genration.

Ghostface really is an underrated killer. Easily the most realistic.

Jill and Charlie really didn't though. If anything they used it more. They were texting people and recording their murders and intending to upload them online, I believe. If anything they were clearly two 18 year old psychopaths who use the technology they knew to their advantage.

Yea I do get Twitter and the #tags. But that still doesn't really mean much. People talk **** on the internet all the time. #tags on Twitter included.

Talk **** doesn't have the same definition for you does it? When someone tweets ''On my way to #Scream 4." they are mostly likely going to see it. If they hash tag they want to see it they want to see it. It's really not that hard to understand.

Really you don't even have to hashtag it. Trending topics have a lot of topics without hashtags.

I'm disappointed this movie has been underperforming at the box office so far :( I just hope it's performance improves in the coming weeks and it makes back it's budget and enough to warrant a fifth installment.

I couldn't keep myself from laughing at how bad a shot Dewey is yet he's the sheriff.

I don't agree nor do I understand anyone who says the motive is weak or just doesn't make any sense.

Please read.

Where have any of you's been living the past 3 or 4 years? Jill's motive is as TODAY as its ever going to get! Have you not read TMZ before? Or Entertainment Tonight? Have you not browsed through Youtube? It's a powerful social commentary on a world gone mad - which is the world we live in TODAY.

Jill doesn't want to kill Sidney. She wants to BE Sidney. She is jealous of all the fame her cousin has that she doesn't. She doesn't want to go to school and end up working a 9-5 job. She doesn't want that life. She wants to be important. Famous. She wants fans. In this day and age where everyone is becoming famous for absolutely nothing, for having very little talent, or for going crazy, she wants that. She says this herself : "I don't need friends. I need fans!" and "Sick is the new sane". And it's true, isn't it?

Crazy = Charlie Sheen.
Talentless = Rebecca Black.
Famous for no good reason = Jersey Shore (or the countless other reality tv shows).

As she was saying all this, those were all the real-life examples that popped into my head. You can't tell me it's not relevant to what's going on right now, because it most definitely is.

Absolutely spot on. I don't see how people can think the motive was bad either. It was brilliant. It encapsulates what is going on in the world today. Which makes me unsure of what they could do with the fifth film.

It's a shame this looks to be underperforming here. Hopefully it picks up next week or during the week or the overseas sells it. I don't understand it's been trending on twitter all weekend. So where the hell is everyone that's ''seeing it" and tweeting about it?

I think there's people who can just look up spoilers to the film on the internet now that the film is out. If they're thinking they want to see the film and if it's worth it. Believe me, there are people who don't care that much. Or they want to see if it's worth their money.

Which is another ironic and brilliant thing about this film. People can look up spoilers to this film on the internet when the film itself addresses these kind of issues. I mean everything we're talking about it happening at this very second. People get murdered, and at the same time people are texting, then someone can look up something on the internet, whether this happens or not, if someone suddenly collapses in the street, people don't use their phones to call 911, they use them to film what is happening.

Scream 4 also shows the continuance of how uncaring people are and how we respond to violence. Scream 2 showed this as well in the opening. I also liked how each film gradually started to show the more extensive uses and needs of cellular phones. It goes from "Where did you get a cellular phone?" to everyone using one in this, like Billy's line but to an even greater and more horrible extent.

Just think. All of this started because of Billy and Stu. The legacy they brought on. It expanded to ways they even couldn't even imagine.

I mean
Jill was more merciless than Billy. She outright shot Trevor in the balls and head. She never gave him a chance. At least Billy and Stu held Sydney's dad.

Which reminds me, the reveal of the killers is perhaps more, if not just as disturbing as the Billy and Stu scene in the first. It's actually taken a step further.

Think about it. The world has always been screwed up, but it's getting more and more screwed up.

The audience members that came in the various showings yesterday and Friday were perfect. People were saying "no!" whenever a character goes outside alone, and some audible gasps at who the actual killers were.

And as for the box office numbers, I pray that the word of mouth is sufficient to give this film a decent box-office life. I'm beyond pining for a Scream 5, I just want 4 to do well.

Some people are just reading the spoilers online from sites like this. I loved this movie and too I am disappointed that it's underperforming. But realistically this was the only weekend where this movie could pull in some big bucks. But it just came out at a bad time. It went up aganist a family film Rio and then for the next 3 weeks it has heavy competition. Tyler Perry's new movie this coming weekend ( Easter Weekend), then Fast Five the weekend after that, and then Thor the weekend after that. So this film is going to go down hill at the box office in the U.S. The only chance it has is to do well overseas. Then hopefully sell big on blu ray/ DVD.

I honestly don't care if we get a sequel . I loved this film and it really works as a finale with the new generation old generation themes . I mean how much more can they do with Syd? Let it end on a high note

Man, Charlie killing Kirby after the scene on the coach was just so heartless , and the beauty of this was Jill planting the seeds in Kirby's head to give Charlie a shot . These 2 were sick psychopaths Far better than the killers from the other sequels . Jill might be my favorite right now.
