Scream 4!!!!! - Part 4

You do seem like a troll really. And it's hard to take your opinions seriously when you loved Scream 3 the most, which is the worst of the series. Scream 4 was superior to scream 3 in every way possible. Sure it not horror movie scary but it's intense. And the humor wasn't chessey like Scream 3.

Umm... Scream 3 MORE than Scream 4.

Not the most.

Jesus Christ, not a chance.

The entire 3rd act of Scream 3 is better than 95% of 4. The only redeeming things of 4 are the opening meta-in meta and the Kirby phone call.

Thank you, come again.

Not a surprise, as Kevin Williamson wrote both Scream 4 and H20. However, Sid's arc from survivor girl (Scream) to damaged victim (Scream 2) to broken/psychologically disturbed hero (Scream 3) to finally heroic badass (end of Scream 3, Scream 4) has felt very natural.

H20 was very forced as there was literally 20 years between Halloween II and that film. Plus Laurie was just so *****y to her son and everyone around her, I'm glad Sidney didn't go that route.

O_o

Um..... no?

I think you just lost credibility in the eyes of 95% of the fan community by saying the third act of scream 3 was in any way good. The third act of that film is the worst thing of this entire franchise. I'm all for differing opinions, but you just lost all credibility with that statement.

The reveal of Roman is really really awful and it just kinda cheapens Billy and Stu in a way as well. The only thing good about 3's finale is Sidney's general ''I'm sick of this ****" attitude through out.

And Jow, buddy, you really just trolling now. You're just coming into the thread to get others riled up at this point.

I loved the psychological wreck Laurie was in H20. It made total sense because she was basically living in fear for the last 20 years that Michael could still be alive and looking for her.

She was a sweet, innocent, and meek person in H1 and HII. It was a refreshing and natural change to see her at the other extreme, especially considering what she'd been through. The moment in H20 when she stops running, and grabs an axe and goes looking for Michael, screaming "MICHAEL!!!!" was one of the best moments of the Halloween series.

Yes it was. I remember getting chills when she did that. (Along with a big smile on my face. )

Yeah, I loved Sydney in this one. And the first thing I caught and loved was Sydney running to Olivia's house and doing what she could. She just wasn't afraid. And when she picked up and said, "What?" You could tell she sounded sick of it. Same with "Why are you doing this?"

I gotta say, I really loved Ghostface's voice in this one alot. His phone call with Rebecca then the two with Sydney. He sounded terrifying.

And him in the opening. "You're just the dumb blonde with big ****." ANd "This isn't a comedy, this is a horror film. People DIE."

That whole opening just sold me completely. I knew I was watching a Scream film. Loved the movie within a movie stuff. Especially the quote "Teens sitting around with their cellphones deconstructing horror films?"

You can tell Williamson knew there would be criticism of this happening again, so he came up with movie within a movie thing.

How is the third act of Scream 3 other than Sidney kicking Roman's ass any good? All the characters in the "third act blood bath" are unlikable. Did you get upset when Parker Posey died? What about Emily Mortimor? Maybe it was the Roger Corman in-joke character? Or I know, the African-American stereotype who gets the rug pulled under him like we're watching a Tom and Jerry cartoon! And moments like when the killer throws his knife like a tomahawk and it lands handle first into Dewy's head....so, so scary.

Here is why in a nutshell that Scream 4 was better. Nobody wanted Kirby to die. People still think she might of lived. The only developed character who died at the end of Scream 3 was Parker Posey and her death was greeted by cheers. When Jill revealed her motive in Scream 4 audiences gasped and laughed in a good way at her antics as she beat herself up. They cheered again when Sidney shocked her and said "Don't **** with the original." My own personal experience may color this, but I remember seeing Scream 3 in theaters (the first I did) and everyone groaning when the killer turned out to that guy no one remembered whose motive was "I'm your half-brother and mommy loved you more than me!"

I just can't understand why you think Scream 3 is a better movie.

Um....yes.

Here is the details of his involvement:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween_H20:_20_Years_Later

He wrote a treatment that served as the outline for the story (it sounds better than what we got) and then two others guys developed/altered it into the screenplay. KW then rewrote the dialogue in that and his uncredited rewrite was the shooting script. Though he didn't get a writing credit for that, the Weinsteins gave him a Co-Producer credit for hatching the basic plot and rewriting the shooting script.

If you don't believe me, here is the five page treatment he wrote that launched the whole film:

So, yes Halloween: H20 is very much a Kevin Williamson movie, just as I Know What You Did Last Summer is as well.

Anjow didn't say it was good. He said it was better than Scream 4.

Well, I do love Jow...but he's completely wrong in this case. He does have a right to his own opinion though.

Hell Kirby's not the only person killed in the finale of Scream 4 that people try to make alive. I've seen people trying and praying for them to bring back Kirby, Robbie, even Jill and Charlie back if they do a Scream 5. Not to mention I've seen fans of Rebecca as well. Hicks is a survivor, but she already has a sizable amount of fans.

This is why Scream 4 is infinitely better than Scream 3 in all ways. The new characters that got killed? They actually had that character, otherwise their wouldn't be such a massive out poor of people trying to keep them alive. I never saw that for anyone who died in Scream 3, even Parker Posey's Jennifer Jolie. (and I'm someone who actually liked Jennifer Jolie).

I'd like to add that for whatever one thinks of Scream 4, it is not really a reboot but more of a "for old time's sake" installment that we've seen a lot of in the last ten years what with:

-Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
-Rocky Balboa
-Rambo
-Live free or Die Hard
-Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

And of all those 10+ year later sequels that mostly feel like swan songs, I think Scream 4 is better than the rest.

Still it's pretty hard to take you seriously. Scream 3 was a joke and it make Ghostface way to comical. He should have just joined the Wayans Bros in their Scary Movie parodies. Scream 4 is basically a remake of scream 1 for a new generation. The movties for the killer was logical for today's society. The movie may not have been scary but it was intense. I don't know what your looking for in a scream movie. Cheesy humor? a stupid plot like scream 3?

I really like Rocky Balboa and Rambo but I'd put Scream 4 right up there.

All this Parker Posey in Scream 3 hate makes me angry and sad. She was awesome, y'all are just haters. :o

And I adore the Stab collection, I kind of want the Stab movies to be made ala Machete from Grindhouse.

Not me , I :hrt: Parker Posey . I don't get the hate either , she actually brought something to the table IMO.

Agreed, and I loved her line about being Stab 3's killer, it didn't ruin the tenseness for me at all.

Ooooooo Jwow. That's right. Jwow. How I do in fact enjoy your company. I think most do here. But how wrong you are. Scream 3 was awful. Watch Jennifer mcarthys death. It puts the cheese in cheese. Green bay packers fans should just wear a picture of her on their heads. While I do agree that the third act of Scream 3 was a big upgrade over the rest of ther movie, it wasn't anywhere near the fourth. Just stop fighting it. You're a respected member here, atleast in my opinion. But come on bud. I'm not going to go as far as saying you're a troll. Cause your not. I feel as though you're one of the more intellegent posters here. And give it, I have but maybe 50 posts, but I've been following this site for about 6 years. And while it Is just an opinion, what many have forgotten what that is, ide have to admit that you have crossed a line. Kirby alone makes this movie better than the third. And not just because she's gorgeous. Ill be the first to call it mr. Jwow. When this comes out on dvd or blueray, whichever you own.......you'll come around, eventually.
