Scream 5 in Development

They're clearly keeping a lot of things hidden, which is a good thing IMO. Although I'm already speculating....

Looks awesome. Cinematography in particular looks great.

RIP Dewey

Dewey dying seems inevitable given the condition of his life. Gale leaves him, his life goes into a talespin, he tries to help Sydney stop another Ghostface to give his life some purpose, and he gets killed. Gale feels guilty about his death and beats herself up over it.

So based on the trailer

the killer is attacking people related to the original killers?

I know the trailer was heavily edited to avoid major spoilers so I’m excusing some of the shots included, but the trailer didn’t honestly do anything for me. It’s great seeing the gang back together again and the killer’s motivation seems interesting, I just hope they go balls to the wall bonkers with the kills and one or more legacy characters bite the bullet.

Loved that trailer. Looks more in line with what I thought Scream 4 should have been.

Classic Scream.

So glad they got Radio Silence to direct this. It looks like it's back to formula.

Dewey: "Do you have a gun?"
Sid: "I'm Sidney Prescott of course I have a gun"

I loved that. Great trailer. Full of intrigue. The whole part about
the attacks being on people related to the original killers has me very cautious. I'm afraid they're going to pull some bad day time soap opera twist about one of the killers having a kid we never knew about. Probably Billy. Pissed at Sidney for killing both their dad and their grandmother.

I have a feeling that in this case:

Any "lovechild" of Billy Loomis won't be one of the killers, but instead will be one of the main targets. That is how they should switch things up. It doesn't even appear that Sidney is one of the main targets of the killer this time.

I highly doubt they will make the killer another "long lost" or secret family member that we don't know about until the last scene. At least, I hope not.

I hope you're right.
Trying to link things back to the original killers just gives me terrible Scream 3 vibes. Maybe its someone related to a victim from the original. Casey Becker seems like the most obvious candidate for that.

Bringing it back to the very first. I'd like it.

Was that shot from the house of the original Scream? Are they going back to that location?

Looks damn great to be honest.
And Neve Campbell just doesn't age!

Good trailer-- it's more than obvious they're holding a lot of stuff back. My only concern is if this trailer is enough to hook the average casual fan seeing as Scream 4 didn't do great at the box office. Perhaps the passage of time and the MTV show is enough to bring the younger generation on board this time though.

My biggest takeaway is the tone. It feels more like a legit thriller. I like that. Visuals are obviously a huge step up from Scream 4 too. Seeing the Stu Macher house again really grounds this in the same world as the original. I really hope Brian Tyler includes Beltrami's iconic themes in the score to compliment that.

This looks a LOT better than I was expecting. Loved Neve’s “I’m Sidney Prescott; of course I have a gun” line.

Great trailer and damn they actually made Ghostface feel scary again and brutal asf which is something I haven't felt in these movies since Scream 2 honestly and this looks alot better than I was expecting.

I'm also already loving what they are doing with the Sidney in this aswell as the rest of the OG cast because to me it definitely feels like they will have bigger roles than in Scream 4.
