SDCC 2007- Marvel Edition.

Again, probably due to her being better known in that particular incarnation.
Machine Man I might understand, but Monica Rambeau? She's been all over the Marvel universe. I would hope most comic readers know of her through something other than the unfunny travesty that was Nextwave.

Really, he joins a facility that seems good, and it's NOT?!?!

Girlfriend! That's so totally fresh! I'm like so totally picking this up!!

Not to state the obvious, but this is the movie...not the comic. So unless you mean "pick up" as in at Blockbuster, I think you got a bit confused there.

Naive much? For the average comic reader, the most recent appearance of a character is the one most fresh, and therefore most recognizeable. That's just the way it is.

Didn't Nextwave make a cameo in Civil War?

I'm pretty sure Monica and Stack were drawn into the backgrounds on a few occasions. Not sure about the rest.

Clearly Corp wasn't talking about average comic book readers.

Most comic book readers wouldn't be considered average.

Fact is, not everyone is going to know every single character. And judging by Nextwave's sales, they probably wouldn't know her in that state either.:o

I agree. Not everyone will know every single character. That's why when a character appears outside of the title they're most known for at the time, their look may may change to reflect that. I'm not arguing with you.

I mean, just look at how Dr. Octopus' look changed in the comics during and after Spider-Man 2.

That, plus the fact that Ramos is a terrible costume designer. Leather and greaseball hair? When the hell did those two things suddenly become a good idea for Doc Ock? Not even the movie made him look that bad. :o

Dude, we better stop talking about this and get back on topic. :(

Why? This is what the Hype is for. People start threads, which start discussions, and then the discussions go wherever the wind takes them. It's called conversation.

But hippy doesn't like it. And Lord knows, he controls the Hype.

Seriously. We need to start discussing some SDCC news. It's what this thread's about, man.

There is no such thing as getting out of hand. Threads go where they will. This is the way of the Hype and its thankfully lax moderation.

What it comes down to really. One day the mods will decide to do something and bring the hammer down, and no on is going to like it. Might as well do what we have done so far and self moderate.

I sincerely doubt the mods are going to bring any hammers down after over half a decade of blissfully carefree thread derailment and counting.

Not really, but he does have a point. We need to cutback on the thread derailings, it's getting a bit out of hand.

Wow, I was totally joking, but it looks like you're not. For shame, little man.

Nah, look at Morg, he pops up in here every blue moon and does something mod worthy, and leaves. For example his famous:

"This thread already exists" posts, but he doesn't actually bother deleting or merging them.

And Dew has popped up in here once to ban some poor noob.

Okay, I know Ramos sucks an incredible amount of ass, but is Tony Moore - at least - any good? I haven't read anything by him.
