She-Hulk Season 1, Episode 4 "Is This Not Real Magic?" (Spoiler Thread)

What I really like about this show is that it is much more episodic than most Disney+ Marvel shows which feel more like padded out movies split into six 40 min parts. This on the other hand takes advantage of the weekly format more.
Yep, this is a proper TV show. Shame there aren't even more episodes.

Wong is thinking at this point "I wish I was back at Kamar Taj training America Chavez. "
Lol

But also...has Wong met America yet? I'm still a little shaky on the Phase 4 timeline. It looks like She-Hulk happens pretty much during and right after the events of Shang-Chi which I think puts it before Multiverse of Madness in the timeline?

Out of any of the MCU shows, either Netflix or Disney+, this would benefit the most out of having the usual 13 episode format. It would be nice if they could do 22, but taking into account how much money and work is put into just this number of episodes, it is definitely not realistically feasible.

Unless, of course, they split it into two batches of 11 episodes each, six months apart. Enough time between for the VFX artist to get everything down just right, but not too far apart to have to wait too long.

Yep, at the very least greenlight and start work on season 2 asap.

Not gonna lie, hearing Donny Blaze is making me do double takes all episode so far.

That was a great episode. Madisyn better get a character poster. I loved seeing Jen in the oversized suit for She-hulk at the beginning. Just a hilarious image of Maslany like a kid an adults clothing.

Did Nikki low-key confirm that she is bisexual? That “hetero dating life” comment made me wonder…

EDIT: So, turns out Nikki is bi, but unfortunately it sounds like the show doesn’t explore it beyond that single, ambiguous line of dialogue. That’s disappointing, though hopefully they’ll expand upon it in future seasons because she’s a great character and LGBTQ+ representation (beyond one or two lines of dialogue) is long overdue in the MCU.

Honestly, are you surprised after what they did with Zoe in Ms Marvel. And while I am up for being entertained of Zoe being a dork around Nakia because of her crush, In that show, only hinting at her sexuality is a ****ty move. But hey, its also the show that constantly talked about how the cops were spying on muslims, only to have the cops side with the muslims in the end.

This is probably a personal thing that most people wouldn't care about but I do think it'd be nice if they would look for existing Marvel characters that fit the roles they want to include when making up a character. I'm sure there's some minor shapeshifting Asgardian and some stage magician using some real magic in the comics if you look for it. I felt the same with Agents of SHIELD sometimes.

That way leads to a lot of people's problems with Fox's X-men.

It took me like an embarrassing 20 seconds to realize that the reason Jen's clothes looked so unflattering in the beginning was because they were oversized for She-Hulk. :funny:

And I loved how right when I was asking what the hell She-Hulk was supposed to do in that situation with the flying demons, she asked the same thing. I like that Wong came to her for a "superhero" problem rather than a lawyer thing....I kind of want them to become besties. Not to tread on Madisynn's territory. :hehe:

Like Miley all these Wong cameos in films and shows can be referred to as the …Wongerz tour. :o:dry:

I’ll see myself out (sorry :O)

I'd be happy with this. :)

Whoa, yeah I had no idea about Zoe on Ms. Marvel. I totally missed that. Marvel needs to really do a better job with this stuff. What the hell.

Gotta say, given all the making fun of the chud reactions, I do find it kind of hilarious that they are almost recreating one of the situations that I witnessed with those people.

It gets a lot of side eye from me, though I do not know their full plans. The original panels of Zoe coming out were great, so I can see why they would try to save that story of the future.

Lol

Yea he would have met America at this point. This show is in 2025, a year after Shang-Chi. MoM is in 2024, after NWH but before Hawkeye.
