Falcon and Winter Soldier SEASON 1, EPISODE 4: The Whole World is Watching (SPOILERS)

The Dora Milaje deserve their own show.
They’ve really reminded us how awesome they are. I would love a show based on them. Disney + and the competitive quest for content is the vehicle whereby these kinds of things (that might never have been possible when restricted to films only) really can happen. :cwink:

Wow, that was intense! It did start off a little slow but really picked up. Zemo continues to be the best part of the show and I'm really invested in Walker's storyline, but I can't help but think Karli, the Flag Smashers and everything with that is just not all that interesting.

Seb really sold that opening scene too. I could feel his pain there.

I do wish we saw Walker take the serum on screen but wasn't needed.

Wow. Episode 5 is going to be a doozy.
Yeah, I was itching to see that scene too but it worked without it. You are closely looking at his actions and thinking..has he taken it yet, waiting for that first proof lol.

Feel like every side MCU character will get a Disney+ series. Okoye, needs to be in it
Someone posted a while back that in that Civil War battle, every character will have now had their own solo or show.

Like the Extremis serum. Those guys were casually ripping apart Iron Man suits like they were cardboard. Or the Pym Particle, which is just ridiculously OP. Compared to those, the normal Super Soldier Serum looks a bit weak.

Like, if I was a wannabe supervillain in the MCU, I wouldn't bother with the SSS and instead would put my resources into getting ahold of one of those.

Depends on how well known Extremis is in universe, I guess.

I think so, too. But I don't think Walker will object.

I think he won't object either. He wants to do good but got in over his head, he'll realize that. He's also a decorated war hero, so his legacy will be at stake. Him joining the Thunderbolts he could see as a way of writing a wrong.

God I just can't stop watching the last 5 minutes or so of this episode. As great as this show has been so far that ending took it to a whole other level for me and I reallt hope those last two episodes are on this level.

As arrogant and obnoxious as Walker was in this episode I still felt really bad for the guy the whole time, because you can tell that he's a decent guy trying to do good and live up to what Cap stood for, but he obviously can't handle pressure which is definitely a huge flaw for his character.

I mean the dude got spit on in the last episode, wrecked by the Dora Milaje who almost took his shield away from him and then the cherry on top of seeing his best friend get murdered infront of him by a terrorist eventhough I still think Battlestar had no business getting involved in that fight.

I understand why he lost it at that point, but the whole situtation could have been handled so much better if he was just a little more patient and didn't let his ego get the better of him like it did.

I would have thought that the serum that was used by a bunch of terrorists to hijack Air Force One and kidnap POTUS would be pretty well known all around the world.

Does the average joe know that those terrorists were on Extremis, or just that Iron Man stopped a terrorist attack on the prez?

Falcon/WS can be really charming and funny together, but I feel like they haven’t had enough of an opportunity to play off of each other like they should be able to.

I agree with that a bit to be honest. But it isn't bothering me as much as I thought.

Does the average joe know that those terrorists were on Extremis, or just that Iron Man stopped a terrorist attack on the prez?

Well, it would have probably become public knowledge that the "Mandarin bombings" were actually just Extremis soldiers combusting. Not to mention that the Vice President was working with/for Killian and his whole reason for doing so was because he wanted to use Extremis on his daughter to re-grow her legs. Feel like that would be widely publicised as well.

And besides, I'm looking at this from the perspective of a wannabe supervillain; not just some regular Joe. It'd be pretty easy for someone with black market connections to find out info about the Extremis serum.

Well, technically Thor came closer than anyone to actually defeating Thanos in IW but this does raise an interesting question: why are all these people so obsessed with recreating the Super Soldier Serum when there are so many better super-power-granting chemical formulae around in the MCU?

Like the Extremis serum. Those guys were casually ripping apart Iron Man suits like they were cardboard. Or the Pym Particle, which is just ridiculously OP. Compared to those, the normal Super Soldier Serum looks a bit weak.

Like, if I was a wannabe supervillain in the MCU, I wouldn't bother with the SSS and instead would put my resources into getting ahold of one of those.

Well, the Extremist serum was awfully volatile and blew up a bunch of folks. And the Pym particles require a containment suit on top of the formula. But I also think a big part of it is branding. Cap was the extremely popular war hero, movie star and superhero ideal for decades in the MCU. It is not too surprising that he is the guy every hero and villain want to emulate.

I think he won't object either. He wants to do good but got in over his head, he'll realize that. He's also a decorated war hero, so his legacy will be at stake. Him joining the Thunderbolts he could see as a way of writing a wrong.

I think Mr. Walker is going to hang onto that shield like grim death. Sam will have to rip it away from him.

That closing shot with the shield. Wow.

Pretty good build to Walker's inevitable heel turn. I like that it was tempered with his legit wanting to do good, vulnerable between his past and the impossible shoes he was too willing to fill and partly being an insufferable pratt.

The last shot tho.
Yeah it was really well done and felt very intense. That scene felt like a great payoff to all the build up and is going to be very memorable.

Every time Karli Morgenthau is on screen, I’m bored to sleep. She’s just not an interesting antagonist. She also reminds me of the villain from Spider-Man: Miles Morales, who I found very annoying.

I do think she's about the least interesting part of the show and feels pretty shallowly-developed and basically a plot device. I do like that there's a bit of that "idealist or terrorist" gray area.

Wow this episode was all kinds of amazing IMO, but I knew we were in for something special after that great opening with Bucky and yes Sebastian Stan definitely deserves somekind of award for his performance so far.

The character drama in this show is just so damn good, but man the action in this episode hit me just as hard honestly in how personal and vicious it felt.

I don't even know how to describe it and just when I thought this show couldn't anymore brutal or dark that ending happens and I'm not going to lie seeing blood on the shield gave me all kinds chills.

Bruhl as Zemo continues to be great, but I also thought Wyatt Russel really shined in this episode aswell when it comes to John Walker slowly falling apart and then they breaking point of seeing Lamar killed.

Loved the brief scenes with the Dora Milaje too who continue to show whey ain't no effing joke.
I’ve said before how I was kind of expecting not to enjoy US agent’s part in the show ahead of time, but they have got this part of the show so right. We have a decorated hero who genuinely started with the right intentions showing us exactly how hard it is to be like Steve Rogers. It’s all been executed very well.

Most of us seem to be sympathetic to Walker having seen how each small event gradually pushed him into this much darker version of himself. I’m sure he would have given up the office of Cap (which he didn’t put himself up for) voluntarily if he could have seen the direction it would take him.
