Falcon and Winter Soldier SEASON 1, EPISODE 4: The Whole World is Watching (SPOILERS)

"The desire to become superhuman cannot be separated from supremacist ideals. Anyone with that serum is inherently on that path. She will not stop, she will escalate until you kill her". So the serum is corrupting Karli? So what Erskine said is still true for this supposedly refined serum, it's still bringing out the worse in People.

Zemo saying it doesn't make it true, he's obviously biased lol. She is corrupted but that isn't necessarily because of the serum.

Agreed. Sam doesn't need the serum. The serum didn't make cap cap, giving the serum to Sam will make it seem like he needs the serum to be Cap. Sam is inspiring in his own way, he'll just be a different kind of Captain America.
He doesn’t need the serum. But he’ll be screwed if he’s up against another Thanos type threat

Few thoughts...

This was Sam’s best episode, IMO. Loved his scenes with Karli and the Smasher supporters. It was probably the best episode to show why he’s the one who should be the new Cap. He has Steve’s empathy and compassion. Bucky has it too but for him, it’s more about the mission. For Sam, it’s more about just helping people.

In the credits today (which had a dark, somber theme to reflect what we just saw; fits perfectly) there were some messages that were quickly “redacted” with actors’ names and other things. Did anyone slow it down and catch anything there? I spotted some messages in (I think) Wakandan and a sentence about people disappearing during the blip but I’m wondering if there are some juicer tidbits in there.

Hated seeing Lamar die but I guess something had to push Walker over the edge. In the comics it was because a couple guys who knew his identity told the world and that got his family killed. But that wouldn’t work here since his identity is already publicly knowledge. Still, I was hoping Battlestar wouldn’t bite it.

Loved the fight scene with the Dora in the hotel room. It was a great moment to show Walker how out of his depth he is and also was a cool way to take Bucky down a peg with the whole arm thing. I also loved the first scene with Bucky and Ayo. Stan’s acting was just fantastic there. You could really feel his pain. This was probably his best episode too.

I like that Walker and Karly aren’t straight up villains. We both got to see the layers to their characters in this episode and while they both might do terrible things, their rationale for it is somewhat understandable. In Karli’s case, she wants a world where people aren’t constantly fighting over imaginary lines in the ground and the xenophobia those borders can cause. For Walker, he knows past missions might be interpreted as heroic but war is a horror and he knows the consequences of those actions. I don’t know how things will end up for either of them but they both have some great character arcs.

Lastly, these kids in that refugee camp have terrible parents. I can’t believe no one ever told them that you don’t take candy from creepy strangers in trench coats. :funny:

Man, this show is just getting better. It felt like we we were in the set up phase in the first 3 episodes and there’s still stuff being set up here, but now they are starting to really deliver and payoff!! Loving it.

Episode 5 now becomes my most anticipated episode of the series for these reasons:

- Will we see Zemo again?

Yes, there are still the scenes from the trailer where he visits the Sokovia memorial and Bucky points him with a gun.

I would think so.

I wonder how Walker is going to react when the American public turns on him and eventually the US Government does too.

Hopefully not too surprised.

I actually feel sorry for Walker. He wanted so desperately to honor Captain America's legacy but he just wasn't up to it. Seeing him going berserk and killing that guy was a bit like watching Anakin turning to the dark side.
Yeah, they’ve done a good job of setting up the background to show us that he wasn’t an innately bad guy and initially wanted to be the best Cap he could be.

Episode 5 now becomes my most anticipated episode of the series for these reasons:

- Will we see Zemo again?
- What's Sharon's endgame? (no Pun intended)
- How does the US Government respond to Walker's actions once it goes viral and the American public turns on him.
- Will we see the Bradley's again?

You're forgetting this:

‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ has a mystery cameo the showrunner refuses to reveal

CB: I can’t wait to see it. Which episode are you most excited for everybody to see?

MS: Hands down, five, it just gets real. And five, you’re going to cry.

There are characters in our series who I would love to see partnered with like – it’s a very, very grounded character — partnered with one of the big world-shakers like Thor or someone like that… The personality is so strong, it’s the episode five character. I’d love to see that character with Thor.

I have been anticipating episode 5 since that interview. Why are we going to cry? Who is this mysterious cameo? I NEED ANSWERS.

I am going to guess it has something to do with Isaiah Bradley.

I have no idea who the mysterious cameo is going to be.

I’ve learned from my experience with WandaVision not to over blow my expectations. So this time I’m not even going to speculate on the appearance. I’m just going to sit back and watch.

We’ll find out that Hydra cloned Bucky and he’ll fight himself. :o

Clone Bucky: Everything you can do, I can do better.

Real Bucky: Yeah, like what?

Clone Bucky: Well, for starters, I don’t need an assist when I want to clap my hands.

Lemar for sad stuff was enough. Can we not have more Zemo-dancing than tears in the world please? :D :csad: :csad:

Another fine episode.
It's always a pleasure to see the Dora Milaje in action.
Truth is I have a liking for these type of women since James Bond, A view to Kill with Grace Jones.
Yep, and they’ve lost none of their edge. “They weren’t even super soldiers”

Yes, they did kill off the black man, but the good news is that he wasn't the only black character on this series, so it's not a big deal.

I'm thinking it's almost going to be cathartic. I don't think it has to do with death. Maybe more like moving on? Sam taking the mantle and the rest of America accepting a black man as Captain America. The writer said it gets real so that's my take away.

Don't want no more trauma.
