Season 6, Episode 8 "No One" Discussion Thread

I could be wrong, but doesn't Jaime make the exact same threat in the books?

You know what... I loved the ending with Arya... as awful as the magical healing powers are... that was a pretty ****ing good way to end the episode...

considering I know what she does later, I'm happy about tonight. Next week....looks ...****ing....insane.

I liked the outcome too because I want Arya out of there, but I don't like how this was written in these past two episodes at all. Just too... unbelievable.

I think the only stuff I really truly enjoyed tonight was with the Hound.

Edmure was pretty great, acting wise, makes me want to watch that other show he is in.. I believe it is Outlander?

there wasn't much left to tell. could have shown him die I guess but whatever, i didn't really care... didn't expect him to live anyway.

I'm always suspicious of off screen deaths, like did they really happen or not? :p

Pretty solid episode to get things moving after last week's slower pace. I loved seeing the Clegane boys wreaking havoc (though I was really expecting FrankenMountain to take down more Sparrows) and the ending with Arya finally putting down the Waif. I liked the Meereen stuff this week also, as brief as it was. I assume we'll be seeing that battle in the finale since I don't think they'll shift focus away from the Battle of Winterfell next week.

My only complaint is that given all the time they devoted to Riverrun this week, they didn't even show the Blackfish's death?

Not happy with way Arya was written last episode. Did she take a stupid pill? Or the miraculous healing power of an actress. One good night's sleep and voila good as new.

Ya want to know how someone pees without their parts cut off?
sitting down :)

So Dany arrives in the nick of time to save Mereen. Will the dragons spare the ships? Or burn them?

this entire episode dodged the cool stuff or had it happen off camera.

Have to say i was worried for this episode after all the comments i read somewhere else after the leak, but this was a damn good episode. Sure, Arya's storyline in the last episodes was poorly written, but it ended nicely.

Annoyed about the off screen deaths. I can do with not showing the blackfish, but Arya's battle? They build up for that scene all season long and we didn't get it.
Could it be because of budget as well?

argh I'm so mad they didn't show Arya and Waif fight. I was hoping she would act all injured and weak and then the Waif would be right about to kill her and say "valar morghulis" and Arya would stick her through the heart with Needle and say "Not Today"

I think one single stage direction could have made the ran siting from last week's episode to this in Arya's subplot make much more sense; instead of having the Waif stab Arya, have her slash her once across the stomach. They'd don't treat the stomach wound as a multiple puncture wound in this episode, and I think tarts one for he things that does make this season's writing seem subpar in certain areas. Traditionally, GoT has been a showcase for smart writing, and we've had a few moments this season that seem to be run-of-the-mill "write for the idiots" in sequences.

Otherwise, though, this wasn't bad. Now I'm laughing at the fact the Hound is basically Two-Face Little John to Beric's Zombie Robin Hood and Thoros's necromancer Friar Tuck.

I would have liked this. :)

Yes, could have been as easy (and cool) as that. But instead they chose to cut to black, just like that.

So... Is this the last we see of Jaqen?

I mean... next we have the bastardbowl... then the finale which he won't be in unless he is involved with

****Massive finale spoiler****
Arya taking out Walder Frey

But given that season 7 and 8 are condensed seasons and shes going back to Westeros... i dont know if we will see him agian

So can Arya change faces now? Or is she done with all that business?

Yep, she packed her Suitcase of Faces filched from the Hall before she split.

that's not how this works, that's not how any of this works. :)

I was under the impression that the power to change faces was a gift from the many-faced god. like a blessing of sorts. the actual job of being a faceless man was that of an assassin working for him and that maybe any face that she harvested for him was hers to use.

She asked if she could borrow a face from the Hall for the hit on Lady Crane and she was refused, so now you think because she killed the Waif she can change her face anytime she wants without having one with her?

Was anyone else laughing at the chase of Arya?
