Season 6, Episode 9 "Battle of the Bastards" Discussion Thread

Oh she could definitely seduce Robin all she has to do is flash him one of those boobies. I still think she could plea to Robin that she was coerced to lie for fear of her life. It is pretty much the truth. sorta.
Another thing that might be cool is that they are meeting near the Wierwood tree. Would be crazy if Bran could see it and warged into Littlefinger and turned him into an idiot and all he could say is "I killed Lysa" over and over. (yeah I know)

I wonder why they showed us the white eagle or falcon whatever that bird was.

Good question. Warg was my thought too... though that could be one of their wildlings.

So what is going to happen to Melisandre? How will Jon react to that news? Davos wants justice.

All of which still gives Baelish every strongest advantage possible to strike. This all plays into Baelish's plan.

That's the hand the Stark's were dealt. She could either stubbornly refuse to do what was necessary and doom the North and Westeros or she could do what was necessary and deal with the Baelish problem after they have Winterfell. She did the pragmatic thing. And Sansa knows what type of man he is so she isn't going into this situation blind.

Uncle Peter owns the Vale because he has The Lord of the Vale. Sansa sending ravens borders on meaningless. She had no credibility in her own country, her own bannermen rebuked her, she was married to Ramsay and a Lannister at the same time.

She's still damaged goods, and her sending ravens retracting her own tearful testimony, making herself a perjurer on top of everything else, I don't think would be received well.

She had credibility before all of the gathered Lords deliberating Lysa's death. She wouldnt be asking anything of them, just giving them information that would precipitate its own reaction.

Littlefinger's hold on the Vale is dependent on keeping those Lords and Robyn in line. If Robyn and those lords learn the truth, he's finished. They don't like him and they will take her word over his.

There is nothing pragmatic about getting into bed with a scorpion/rattlesnake hybrid like Baelish.

Rickon didn't get a single line this season.

Probably the best episode this show has done so far. Loved it. Even more so since I saw it on a 4K tv.

and yet she's alive,Joffery and Ramsay are dead and she and Jon are home in Winterfell.

So what would have been a better solution? Get slaughtered by the Boltons?

when Ramsay said I'm part of you did he imply he impregnate her? I thought so

Game of Thrones Season 6: Anatomy of A Scene: The Battle of Winterfell

Well this episode certainly did not disappoint. Wow. Definitely in the conversation for "series best."

Probably #1, just ahead of Hardhome. That's a high compliment.

Blackwater's probably my #3. The "big battle" eps are definitely the show's strongsuit, imo.

The Wights jumping off the cliff to go after the Wildlings and Nightswatch, that made that episode #1 till tonight.

I don't know. Is it just me, or did Ramsay have a smile on his face?

I'd assume everyone knew or has an idea, Cat seemed to know he had something to do with it.

I don't expect baelish to go anywhere anytime soon.

It was even better due to how smug he was until his final moments.

His putting down couldn't have been worse. as soon as he mentioned the dogs, it's like "Ah, that'll do fine later on...".

People fault it for being predictable, they are telling a story and offering truckloads of fan service. I love fan service, pour it on! :hmr:

I don't think any of our principal characters are aware.

I'd like to say this is one of my favorite "big episodes" solely for the Battle of Fire in the episode's beginning.
