September 2007 Sales Charts & Market Share Report

It may be just me,but i think DC is closing in on Marvel.A few months ago, didden't Marvel lead by 10%?Now it's less than that.

I'm sorry, but that's not something I can ignore. Please correct that.

Penance is a pretty decent character. Before being revealed as the original Monet St. Croix, she had a nice friendship with Jubilee.

What? Look, that's the only Penance I'm willing to admit exists. As far as I'm concerned, Robbie Baldwin died during Civil War, and hasn't been seen since.

I also agree with this. And interestingly, according to NOVA #3, so does Robbie. ;)

Some bad news I missed before: MODOK'S 11 #3 sold at #131 with below 15k sales, which is rather poor. Granted, Marvel seems to continue pumping out decent series about low level characters with zero hype that sink down the charts like a stone.

Interestingly, Frank Cho's JUNGLE GIRL outsold Marvel's lastest "Jerk off to Shanna the She-Devil with Huge Knockers" mini, considering JG is a clone of Shanna for DYNAMITE.

And TERROR, INC. only sold 14k. Those MAX mini's seem to be gutter bait in terms of sales. Of course, each issue is $3.99 so 14k may be slightly better than it looks. But still not too hot.

"Robbie is dead. Now, there is only....PENANCE!"

:down

While the original Penance has to take the new name "Hollow" and her great mini, THE LONERS, sells at a pitiful 15.5k sales at #127, outsold by GEN 13.

The world ain't fair, man. :o

You just had to mention it's being outsold by Gen 13, didn't you? :(

Sometimes it makes me feel physical pain, dude. :(

Bummer.

I mean if it was an ongoing, THE LONERS might damn near be my #1 from Marvel. Yeah, I actually do like it that much.

It's a very good book. Steven Seagle said it best today about people being unwilling to except new ideas. Check it out on Newsarama for anyone who's interested.

It's a mini-series. Marvel very, very rarely pulls the plug on minis, regardless of sales.

Have they ever done that?
I think there was a mini not too long ago that got canceled. They released like 2 issues and then just stopped. I was taken aback at the time because it was so unusual, but now I can't even remember what it was.

Great. Now I'm going to wonder about that all day. Thanks a lot, *****e. :o

Sucks worse to be you. You're second favorite character is stuck in limbo and starred in the crappiest crapfest Malibu Comics ever produced. :o

Only for a little while, and there's a ton of older stuff he's great in. I think I may reread that Avengers run soon, in fact.

You should. Rereading Avengers stories is like Heaven. I sat in my attic and reread #256-279 one night last week.

So was Roger Stern. He's probably my favorite Avengers writer.

I guess Bob Harras is one of my favorite writers by default, given that he wrote the Proctor storyline.

I'll call that his "Sins Past" and ignore his editing record. As an Avengers writer, he was mostly good to me.
