Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel! - Part 1

Maybe you need to revisit it lol. It took the Predator to an urban jungle during a heat wave and gang war. We know Predators love heat and conflict.

It had some great sequences like on the train and the slaughterhouse. Plus the scene in the alley with King Willie who views the Predator as some kind of voodoo demon.

We also learn more about the Predators code of honour with how he spares the pregnant detective and how the tribe chief rewards Glovers cop with an old flintlock musket for besting the Predator in single combat. From that we also learn the Predators have been coming to Earth for centuries, which is pretty damn cool. Makes me want to see a Predator movie set during the Crusades or Napoleonic Wars or something.

And I mean come on, we have Danny Glover on the verge of a heart attack the whole film and Gary Busey chomping the **** out of the scenery.

Man Predator 2 is the dogs bollox.

Hear hear.

I love Predator 2. Terrific movie, and the last great movie to feature Predator.

I also enjoy Predator 2, and I enjoy it more than all the other crappy sequels, including Predators.

Nothing touches Predator 1 in my book, but I've gone from being very 'meh' about Predator 2 - when it was released - to quite liking it. Rewatched it a few months ago and it's certainly a lot more enjoyable than anything that's come since.

What I'd really like to see at some point is a Predator film set in a different time period. Why not? They've been coming to Earth for many hundreds of years according to Predator 2, and possibly thousands of years if you follow the AvP canon.

The Predator on the loose in feudal samurai Japan? Yes please.

Or take a different angle entirely, and move into the future. Predator vs a much more technologically advanced humanity? Again, yes please.

Predator 2 is trash, IMO. It's just boring as all hell.

Predators is much worse and takes itself way too serious.

Going back to the Shane Black movie, early rumour is that we might get a teaser next month. SuperBowl?

Probably.

Fox have Maze Runner out in Feb and Red Sparrow in March. It will be attached to one of those.

Man I wish Ahnuld hadn't passed on this. It'd just give it that extra boost of awesomeness (and authenticity, I guess?), having some cameo from a life-gone-to-hell boozing PTSD Dutch in this thing.

Did we ever hear a yay or nay on Glover? Not sure it'd be worthwhile having just Danny appear in this, but man it would have been awesome having both of them, sitting around telling "war stories" in some government black-ops site, brought in by Jake Busey's guy for advice or whatever. Just a scene or two. Then again, being "just a scene or two" is probably the whole reason Ahnuld told 'em to go put their thumbs up their butts.

Still, Shane Black doing Predator. :hmr: So hoping this is as good as it should be, considering Black's basically perfect for this.

September generally isn't a great sign, but we shall see.

It was released in September last year. Did pretty well.

IT came out last September, so I wouldn't worry too much.

IMO because there is still no official image or a teaser ...Fox doesnt know how to promote the movie. its Shane Black so the plot and narrative will not be 100% predictible.

The train scene in Predator 2 is chilling, IMO.

That's a much better release date, less competition. Downside is having to wait longer for the trailer.

I like Predator 2. But I still love Predators.

I liked Predators a lot too. Really cool. Never seen Predator 2. Will have to in September when I'll just marathon the 3

Always liked P2. Is it a couple notches down from the first one? Yeah, but it's still entertaining and has pretty good action and production design.
