Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel!

I liked Predators, shame that theme seems to have been dropped, at least it changed things up.

I´d like to know if Arnie will be back.

Pertinent question, especially with the lack luster T: Genisys reception. ( I liked it in theater ).
I, for one, like that the Predator franchise, unlike Terminator, isn't dependent on a single actor ( no Arnie, no Termi ). Even if Pred 2 isn't T2 quality and AvP spinoff are crap, there is still milk to milk ( english ? ) compared to Terminator; at this point.

If Arnold comes back, it'll probably be akin to his role in Escape Plan where he's not the main character but a crazy old guy who knows more than he's letting on.

I totally trust Black to be the guy who can deliver on what is being said. So excited about this.

I've been burned so many times with this franchise. I'll just sit back and see where it goes.

I'm one those who disliked Predators.

and while Shane Black will likely do a better job, IM3 proves he can be a little too experimental sometimes.

Predators felt like a fan film that was extended on youtube, and had Hollywood actors.

I enjoyed Predators. Never really got why it gets the hate it does. A group of canon fodder (whom I enjoyed more than the uber macho mercs of the original) are picked off by predators. Which is about all the first predator film offers.

Same here, it at least added new elements like the new type of Predator and the war between the two types. And of course it being on a different planet.

Now I think I've read everything!

Hated Predators. I think Predator 2 was a MUCH better movie with more memorable characters and introduce more iconic Predator moments. Predator 2 is in my blu ray collection, Predators is not.
Harry (Aint it Cool) said, 'Predators earns the 's' (Alien/Alien's'), I'm sorry, but it does not.

I personally am not the biggest fan of it, simply because it pretty much repeats all the beats of the original Movie. I was hit by one deja vu moment after another, and it simply took me out of the movie. It was like "Seen that. Seen that. Seen that too."

Then there's the fact that you have these new and bigger Predators, that hunt the smaller ones, like the original, and then get taken down by a group of individuals, who literally have no experience working together.

1 Predator in the first Movie hunted down 2 teams of seasoned Soldiers. We know at least one Team has been working together as a unit for years. 3 "Super" Predators lose against a team that got randomly cobbled together.

Predator 2 is criminally underrated and has only gotten better with age. A great cast, all in their prime, and it represented the urban crime wave fear of the nineties.

Different heat spectrum.
Laser Frisbee.
Laser net.
Collapsible spear.
Predators hunting for hundreds of years.
All introduced in Predator 2.

What did Predators introduce that was new and fresh?

To play devil's advocate:

Predator game world
Predator dogs
Predator falcon drone
Super Predator race
River Ghost race, inspired by the original Jean Claude Van Dam Predator.
Laurence Fishburne doing an impression of William Shatner on crack

Is that true though?

I mean how many good Predator films without Arnold have their been? I guess some people liked 2 maybe not nearly as many as liked the first one though.

Regardless Arnie is too old now to still be clinging to his action roles from 20+ years ago.

So apparently, the script is turned in. I'll stay cautiously optimistic for now....

That's just my humble point of view. Arnold was only in the first movie, the sequel is ok ( underrated if you ask me ) but the real lead of the franchise is the Predator himself, not Arnold ( unlike the Terminator franchise ).

Have the new Predator be the son of the first Predator Dutch killed. He comes looking for revenge. Then realizes Dutch won with honor and they team up to take on a bigger threat and Dutch teaching Pred Jr old school survival skills.

^^
Solid plot right there but let me spice things up a bit : Anna and Dutch's daughter fall in love with Predator Jr and they must fight the military who allied with the Elders Predator that see this unholy love as a thread to their hunter culture.

Hope this means we are actually getting another movie, though personally I would like a Predators follow up.

I really liked Predators. Part of what was so appealing to me was that it didn't look like they used CGI as a crutch but instead used it in combination with traditional practical effects to make something aesthetically pleasing. So it's disappointing to me that they don't seem to be continuing on from that. That said, I trust Shane Black to deliver a quality product.

LOL, so it's Predator Creed?
