Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel!

I'd like to see a film that gives us a better sense of where the predators come from. Something set at least partially on their home planet. Predators was cool in that it was set on another planet, but I felt like they didn't do enough with it to make it truly not feel like any other jungle on Earth.

How about a Predator movie where the Predator is the protagonist, as if he was captured by a team like Keye's team, is tortured and experimented on, then the movie follows his escape and evasion of the team and their military forces.

Fanfiction whatever I'd watch the hell out of that.

I'm okay with Arnold coming back so long as its a cameo. The idea of Duke coming to the rescue at the end of Aliens Vs. Predator would've been fantastic!

I personally am not the biggest fan of it, simply because it pretty much repeats all the beats of the original Movie. I was hit by one deja vu moment after another, and it simply took me out of the movie. It was like "Seen that. Seen that. Seen that too."

Then there's the fact that you have these new and bigger Predators, that hunt the smaller ones, like the original, and then get taken down by a group of individuals, who literally have no experience working together.

1 Predator in the first Movie hunted down 2 teams of seasoned Soldiers. We know at least one Team has been working together as a unit for years. 3 "Super" Predators lose against a team group that got randomly cobbled together.

I have the same issue with the movie, although I think I may have liked it more than you did.

My other issue with it was the whole "game preserve planet" idea. Even if the humans survive against the Predators, what's the point? Unless they can actually steal the Predators' spaceship and fly home, the best that they can hope for is to wait around for the next batch of Predators to come hunting for them. "Yay! What a prize!"

So you're saying it is plausible for him to take on and beat a Predator in his current shape?

Maybe not beat a Predator, but his skull would come at a pretty hefty price for the Predator.

I'm not against Arnold coming back as Dutch in a sequel. I'd put him in a supporting role though, like maybe as an advisor to the team assigned to track down and capture the Predator.

How the heck did Fred Dekker get on this movie?

He's been a Hollywood ghost writer for years now. He didn't magically reappear out of the aether all of a sudden. What kind of film critic are you dude?

That reminds me of Carrier Fisher. She helped script doctor some big movies you'd never believe. Lethal Weapon I think was one.

How's this for a change up to the formula?

Our heroes, whoever they are, are fully prepared to take on the Predators, thanks to Dutch's reports, their own experience, whatever.

We've got competing Predators like the last movie, but we've also got another one; but instead of hunting humans, he's using the as bait because he's gone full General Zaroff and hunts other Predators, too. I'd use the classic design, and make him the overall antagonistic force because he keeps sabotaging the human protagonists traps and escape attempts so they can't outrun his prey. And if he succeeds, he'll keep using the same bait. And if his bait gets uppity, he kills them.

Whatever they do they need to take the super black predators design and throw it in a dumpster and light that thing on fire.

Having watched Black & Dekker's Edge TV pilot, I definitely want Max Martini in this film.

How about this for a movie?

A Predator is killing unarmed civilians, including women and children, in modern day Miami. The police think that they have s psychotic serial killer on their hands and call in the FBI for help. It turns out that the Predator who's been killing unarmed civilians is considered a criminal among his own people, something of a poacher. So they send another Predator to stop him, like a game warden or a park ranger.

I'm actually writing a Criminal Minds/Predator crossover fan fiction story about that called "The Party Crasher". It's still a work in progress, but it is quite popular on fanfiction.net.

And I've always liked the idea of Predator movies being set in the past. WWII, Vietnam, Feudal Japan, Ancient Egypt, the Wild West, Ancient Sparta, Vikings . . . the possibilities are endless. They've been hunting humans here on Earth for centuries. Maybe they should consider SHOWING them doing this.

First of all, I'm a very good film critic. I just interviewed Rachael Taylor of Jessica Jones today after I saw The Revenant.

Second, I figured he must've been doing some sort of script doctoring work here and there whatever if he's still around.

That still doesn't make him all that qualified to be on this project.

Thirdly, I have good reason to be skeptical about this project, especially after Predators, Alien vs. Predator, etc. Fox going to the reboot well again.

It's just one of those situations where I think it's better left alone, much like Robocop. Look what we got there.

I would rather see someone do another film that could blend action, horror and sci-fi so well together. Something new that's not Predator.

But realistically, I can see why Shane Black would get this. He has a long action movie history. He directed Iron Man 3 which was a big hit, and he worked on the original film. Dekker on the other hand...

If Predators are a race of people that live for the thrill of the hunt then how did they build a civilisation advanced enough for space travel?
What about the Predator home world? What about their every day life? Do they have architects that are in it for the thrill of the build? Road sweepers that are in it for the thrill of the sweep? Lawyers that are in it for the thrill of the conviction?

maybe they became interested in the hunt after years of advanced technology. because everything got boring to them haha :)

The official Facebook page released a teaser poster:
