Just hoping WW final crosses at least $450m so it won’t be a financial loss without PA. Assuming budget is ~$150m. Still no China release date yet though I still think it will happen.

Hmmm I don't care how much it earned WW as long as its gets a sequel like Disney movies like Cruella, Free Guy and Jungle Cruise.

450 M is too optimistic as Black Widow hasn't even hit 400 WW.

True but BW also had a D+ release. Plus it’s a prequel for a character we already know dies.

Black Widow is someone who appeared 4 Avengers movies, 2 Capt. America movies and some more. But if the new Marvel Legend can outgross the Fallen Avenger, then great - as this character should at least get a solo trilogy film, and its success should encourage Disney to not delay mcu films again.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings isn't guaranteed for a China release and it could easily undeperform like Mulan, so who knows.

That's going to be hard to believe. A lot of the YouTube shows like John Campea and Grace Randolph project $45-$55 million. I think it will be closer to that.

The prediction is $45-$50 m domestic and $90 m worldwide.

Hopefully it is a hit on Disney + with the GA who don't see it in the cinema.

So it will go straight to D+ for everyone after 45 days or will they try the SVOD, PA route too?

Straight to D+ for everyone.

In a few days we'll see who's right. The Hollywood trades are saying 45-55M dom weekend while trackers at BOT are saying 80M dom weekend.
That’s good. Look forward to having it available whenever I want to watch. Hopefully the trades are being conservative.

I think they're low balling. Look at Deadlines own article. They say Shang Chi trails Black Widow presales by 20%, but then they predict it to do only a little over half of Black Widows first weekend.

The math points to 60+ 3 days at minimum. But of course that's not a given. So I really hope they're wrong about this. We'll have our first idea in a few days.

It will likely be released on digital download/physical media like Black Widow. The only question is when? After 45 days, its on D+ for free.

I agree with you I think it will likely do over 50, and closer to 60+ on the domestic side of things. And it over 100 million worldwide, but we shall in few days what it actually makes.

Yeah. I was just going to say that. Of course, just because it trails BW pre-sales by 20% doesn't necessarily point to 20% less opening weekend, but at least it's given us some sort of marker. Remember that BW's opening included same day D+ and this movie does not and that clearly had a depressing effect on the BW movie theater box office numbers. Given that, I could see it going north of $64M and hope I'm right. After reading the reviews, I'm really psyched about seeing this movie and really want it to do well. Unfortunately, I won't be able to see it this weekend because I have home care responsibilities and the first day I have off is next Tuesday, so.....discount Tuesday, here I come. LOL.

EDIT: Also, Monday is a holiday
EDIT2: Labor Day weekend is a notoriously bad time to release a movie, but hopefully, we buck the trend.

Shang-Chi is theater exclusive. If it does poorly, look for Eternals to become a Disney Plus exclusive.

Safety first for everyone but hope this does well enough that nothing gets delayed

Well NYC got flooded so thsts going to be a hit to box office I know we had to cancel my 1st floor apt got completely flooded cars abandoned and subway system completely jacked

Is $45-50 million enough to prevent a shift in the dates of Eternals?
With the bad weather in the South and East of US I think they would understand if the movie does not have the highest numbers possible. I don't think the Eternals moving was a true rumor, it comes out a month before Spider-Man, Dr. Strange in March, how much moving would they want to do?
