Yeah, Alfred and Perry brought much needed levity and Martha killed it with the cape line. All three got laughs. Some girls to my left were laughing at Lexenberg too, don't know why though.

I have to ask, what is the deal with this Poni Boy guy?

I've never seen the person in here before the last couple of days and now he's a posting machine with almost all negative comments. What's the motivation?

Had him on ignore for years.

He’s been here a long time, he saw the movie early to review it for his site, and wanted to come here to talk about it. He’s seen the movie twice, is far from the only one here who had issues with it.

What part is so difficult to understand?

Well the audience seemed to enjoy the movie at my screening. I was in Midtown Manhattan and it was probably 75% full at the 6PM non IMAX 3D showing. The crowd seemed to respond well to some of Lex's antics and there was raucous applause at the end of the Warehouse fight and WW's introduction. I would say that oddly it was a fairly GA level crowd rather than a real fanboy crowd so maybe that bodes well. There were a lot of comments I heard while standing in line that let me know they had no real clue about the production or anything to do with the shared universe coming into the movie. I really don't know what a consensus would be. I didn't get the sense that they hated it though.

I've been getting reactions from the rest of my friends on their screenings. It's astonishing how inconsistent it's been. One theater is like a rock concert, the other's like a internment camp. And it hasn't been a case of the theater reflecting their personal opinion of the film either. It's all over the place.

Box office tracking is going to be a sight to see these coming weeks.

They seemed to enjoy it. No major laughing out loud, but definitely some laughs and chuckles at lighter moments.

Applause and cheering for some of the major action beats, definitely for Wonder Woman, but also for Batman.

There were a lot of tears.

I think they definitely enjoyed it. The kids in the audience seemed to handle it just fine.

I always enjoy the hyperbole and exaggeration in these threads. In that vein, here is my crowd report:

There was a man in a wheel chair at my showing. When the film ended, the audience all leaped up from their seats and gave a rousing standing ovation. Unfortunately, this poor handicapped man looked particularly pained, clearly by the fact that he could not get up from his seat and give this film the proper standing tribute it deserved. Then "A Zack Snyder Film" credit came onto the screen. Suddenly a light shone down upon this wheel chair bound man. The light emanated from Zack Snyder's name onto the man. Suddenly, he was able to stand and walk and most importantly give Zack Snyder the standing ovation he so deserved.

True story.

I gotta hand it to you. :lmao:

Just got back from the theater. I honestly couldn't have enjoyed this movie any more and so couldn't my group. My wife loved it, my brother in law said it was one of the best movies he's seen in a long time and my brother and his wife smiled from ear to ear.

I honestly couldn't be happier about how this turned out. I'm on cloud 9.

All the fan service in the world could not make this a good Movie. My sold out audience might have had 1 chuckle and reaction. I paused and looked around when ____ showed up from the future and either they did not know who the hell he was or were like me and thought "well that could have been something".

Both of my audiences loved it. Big time.

I gotta say, Snyder has serious balls. I've never seen a director so divisive with people. I love him.

My crowd was into it. Loudest reaction was Wonder Woman's intro to the fight. They even reacted to the doses of humor. I could hear a few sniffles at the end of the battle (my friend inparticular, lol)

And yes, there was light applause at the end.

Lots of chuckles. My wife cried. I teared up on multiple occasions. People were quiet but chatty walking out. People seemed to really like it.

I think the GA is going to really like it as a whole. The tie in emotion and the story was really engaging.

I will say, my Palms could of quenched the thirst in this world. I haven't sweat like that forever. Clammy as heck. My wife and I are still talking about this.

My audience walked out loving it. Everyone was talking about Batman and how much better Cavill was in this. Some were disappointed with Doomsday. I overheard a group of people saying they thought the fight could have been a little longer had they spent less time on other things. Overall, a lot of people walked out smiling and kids walked out loving it. I saw some people with teary eyes especially girls you could tell with their mascara coming apart.

It's worth mentioning that I did bring my son with me who is 10 years old and a major DC fan, Batman fan, and he absolutely loved the movie. He liked how serious the film was. He said he liked how its dark and he said his throat got tight and "hurt" (which is another way of saying he was crying) when
Superman got stabbed, died, and the whole funeral stuff.

My son has always been a Batman fan and he has always been mixed on Superman e.g. one day he loves him, the next he hates him and I think it's because of the boy scout stuff he has read in the comics and the old classic Superman movies. I overheard my son get upset and pretty vocal when Batman continued to pound the crap out of Superman. After seeing this film, he said it was epic and that he loves Superman more now than ever before and cannot wait for Justice League! That's coming from a 10 year old.

Have you never been with an audience that clapped or cheered during or after a film ended?

Ive only experienced a full round of applause at the end of a film a handful of times. The most recent movie that Ive seen that got an applause at the end was Force Awakens. Ive also seen some embarrassing failed applause. Someone will try to start a round of applause and a few other people will join in and everyone else is like *cricket cricket*.

Sooooo people blew up my FB page, lmao. Reactions:

Travis, If you read the reviews that say Batman v Superman is terrible, don't believe the hype.
I HATE Man of Steel with a burning passion, but this was one of the BEST comic book movies I've EVER seen.
DCU, I am eating my words.

Just got in from seeing movie. HOLY CRAP!!! My whole family loved it. There were a few spots that I can see where the critics did not understand, but it is all laid out in black and white. A savage battle at the end. Will see again.

Screw the critics! It was EPIC!!! Watching the final credits scroll as I type.

I was very happy with it, and glad for the length. I don't want to spoil anything but want to make a few safe observations.

First, WOW on Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Total superhero redemption here, and finally the Batman on screen we've been waiting for.

Second, there are some nice nods to Frank Miller's TDKR other than the BvS fight. If you've read it, you'll recognize a few things.

Third, very nice turning point to bring Batman and Superman together as allies - it's something that I've strangely never considered before, though it should seem so obvious.

Finally, it's not as predictable or shallow as I was fearing. It's IMO DEFINITELY better than MoS. I have a feeling most fans will love it.

have seen it and HELL TO THE YES, it is OUTSTANDING!

The critics have a universal case of HUA so severe, they may require surgical excision in order to stand up straight again!!

And who the hell said "lack of action"??!! Batman is off the chain! This film has probably the single best (or two best?) action sequences in a CBM to date.

And...Wonder Woman! :!:

More later!

Just got back from the 9:40pm showing.... SS trailer got a good reaction and so did the Civil War Trailer but the cheering was for Spider Man at the end. No reaction for the X-Men trailer.

For the movie itself the audience was pretty engaged. Wonder Woman entrance had the biggest fangasm and I remember the Martha comment about the cape had good amount of laughs and Alfred had some comments to Bruce that people laughed. Dead silence for the ending sequence, which is good because of what happened. One guy did have a comment about the two caskets so I guess he missed the part when Perry opened up the newspaper.

I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

Just got home and I went to a 400 seat capacity IMAX 2D screening. It was sold out and when it ended, there was lots of clapping.

Going back to see in IMAX 3D tomorrow or Saturday night. Can't wait!

I can't get back to the theater fast enough tomorrow. I'm stoked my wife actually keeps wanting to talk about it. Lois and Clark's relationship shocked me in how well their chemistry was. Just a great time and a great flick!

Some chuckles at the jokes of which were few and far between
Laughter with Batman's surprised reaction when seeing Doomsday
Some cheers when WW came on screen
A few claps at the end in the front brake but none from my back row in fact the guy next to me put his hands to his face whether it was of displeasure or relief that it was over.

My theater was pretty damn dead for a sold out theater.

A few cheers when it started.

No cheers when they were finally on screen together.

Some light laughter at the jokes that happened. All 3 or 4 of them.

And a light bit of cheers at Wonder Woman.

For a crowd that seemed way more hyped at the beginning. The end result was not all that good.

My theater only lit up as much as they did for WW when Spider-Man showed up in the previews.
