BvS Share all General Audience Reactions here!

Even as I felt weird about the film leaving the cinema early hours this morning I still couldn't stop smiling and that's because as a Superman fan I was thrilled with his arc in the film.

People clapped in my viewings and were pumped when they saw WW and the JL teases.

No boos or anything like that at the end. Just some whistles and clapping.

Gotta say, the Civil War trailer that played directly before the film started generated more buzz than most of the movie.

So much so that there was murmuring about Spidey, etc. well into the opening credits.

Sold out IMAX 3D premiere, Johannesburg, SA.

Not a sound during the film. Nobody laughed loud enough for me to hear, nor were there any cheers or applause. That type of thing is unheard of in South Africa. Just silence.

Half of the crowd stayed for the possible end credits scene. At the end of the credits I heard a low collective groan and one guy's "F#%k you Zack Snyder".

I have never felt such scrutiny while leaving a theater. Those waiting in line to see the next screening must have been concerned at the somber crowd exiting.

I'll be seeing it again next weekend, might report back afterwards.

There was a ton of audience reactions to BvS during my screening, especially for Wonder Woman's entrance. There was also clapping at the end of the movie which surprised me because the last time this happened was at the end of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Came to the 730 showing; sold out so I'm chilling in line for my 2nd viewing now for 810.

BH/HHH, have you written a review yet?

There was not even 1 piece of applause. I promise you, I'm not joking.
There were no claps or reactions during the fight, just silence all the way through.
The 2 moments that got laughter were:

1) Perry's water joke
2) When Lex did his awkward laugh to end his speech.

That is it!
My best friend (who I went with) enjoyed it.
He's not a comic fan though, so he had no expectations.

And that makes 1000! (",)

I had a pretty quiet crowd, which is typical for where I see movies. Some people seemed fidgety and bored for the first hour; some bathroom breaks, a few people with their phones out. But from about the Congressional scene on, people seemed much more attentive. Ma Kent's and Perry White's dialogue got a few chuckles. I thought I heard someone crying toward the end. Only one overheard reaction, which was positive.

Love hearing all the stories from all over the world- sure some are exagerated, no doubt, but for the most part I don't question them, just enjoy hearing about em'. Nothing like an engaged crowd, whether they all love it or hate-- either way it's fun, but in all honesty the overwhelming majority of them are pretty humdrum. Of course when you're looking more closely and paying attention on purpose u can usually hear reactions as the movies end.

With so much said about this movie I can imagine diehards in theaters playing the roles of hypemen trying to amp of the crowd. Gotta love us hardcores...lol FOr all those that had dead audiences you would have loved mine. Even if I didn't think it was the greatest movie- it was the greatest crowd!

Overheard a load of 11/12 year olds declaring that it was awesome afterwards, so hopefully that's a wider indication that kids won't find it dull.
11/12 year olds also find farts and boogers funny they don't know any better.

I live in a pretty big city. Theater was about half full (in fairness, it is the theater on the less populated side of town and had about three screens, but it wasn't very crowded generally). Basically silence throughout. Couple laughs from Perry's lines. Girl I was with liked it, but didn't love it. I don't eavesdrop on people as I leave the theater (clearly some of you freaks do :cwink:) so I don't know what anyone else thought.

Okay guys, just got out of my second viewing.

I intended to go to my 730 showing, but that show sold out, so I had to wait in line for the 810 show.

The crowd had laughs and chuckles for Lex, Martha and Perry White.

[BLACKOUT]-When Lex put the red jolly rancher in the crooked US Officials mouth
-The end of Lex's dinner party speech
- senator finch ' s jar of pee lol
-Perry Whites water is wet scene
-Perry Whites clicking the shoes back to Kansas scene
-Martha Kent "is it the cape?"[/BLACKOUT]

My second crowd didn't react when Wondy showed up. Lots of whispering though throughout the Doomsday fight.

2 girls were sniffling in the front row at the end, especially the Lois/Martha scene.

When it ended, it got a quick applause, but it was short. I think it's because they think of the dumb post credit scenes, so most stayed to see so I couldn't get the reaction walking out.

There was clapping and some cheers at the end of the screening I attended.

There were a few laughs other then that no one said anything and some seemed a bet restless but one guy literally just turned 4 rows of empty seats into a bed and went to sleep behind me.

I'm not sure why anyone would think you are joking. There's rarely applause in theatres, at least in my experience. I was surprised to hear some scattered clapping in my showing for that very reason.

Why didn't he just leave lol. That sounds uncomfortable as all hell.

I guess he figured he paid for it, so might as well stay? lol.

Can I just say this is a fascinating thread? Because I think there's a part of all of us, haters and fanatics alike, that is really just incredibly inquisitive about how "the noobs" will see this film. Because at the same time that we've got this storm of conflict over what the geek word of mouth should be and the general displeasure from critics over it, we're also aware that may mean nothing to someone who doesn't know what we know.

I mean, my personal opinion of the film is that I could see some of my students agreeing with the haters (I don't mean this as an insult, but as a prognosis as to your views on this film's potential legacy), but that the vast majority really will like the film because the ones I know are geeks will be squeeing over the geeky stuff, or shrug their shoulders at it and just think the final fights are awesome.

Then again, I could be absolutely wrong!

I am always intrigued by threads like this because it is almost entirely hyperbole always. Anything from the standing ovations, to the deafening boos, to the people walking out of the theater complaining or saying how it is their new favorite movie...it all feels like bull **** to me.

Were we at the same screening? Kidding of course but when I saw it yesterday (we were 5 of us), the reaction was pretty identical to yours and pretty much the same scenes. There was clapping at the end but the gradual normal kind, not the talk show kind. I was still taking in what I saw before realizing the clapping and kind of half assed it too late. Haha

They laughed at Martha's cape line, the "Is she with you" scene and one more, can't remember. Some muttering/giggling during Clark's shirtless scene. A girl jumped when the bomb in the capitol went off. At the end, in the row ahead of me, a lady was asking about some JL stuff and her people were filling her in. Some stayed for an after-credits scene... (Old Rose voice) that would never come.
