Sequels Should Gambit be in X-Men First Class?

honestly i think that taylor kisch could be in a x men first class movie. i'm mean sure it would completely contradict the comics but i personally think that taylor kisch next to the teenage scott summers and young emma frost minus wolverine and maybe a young blue beast and jean grey, storm and maybe a few others based on what we have seen thus far. i mean it could work!

personally i think that gambit is cool but he is just not popular and well known enough to carry his own movie. gambit needs to be in a team movie where he can interact with other characters.

It could work but it depends if there is a need for him to join them. It would have to naturally happen and well he never met xavier just saw the kids go to him. He had no interaction with any of the kids either so the chances of Gambit seeking out Xavier would have to be a real good reason.

I've thought about possible team variations i think the best one we could do for x-men first class is...and i think another key factor in it is the story, is X-Men First Class a story about how Xavier and Magneto were friends then fell apart thus splitting the school to form there own band of mutant teams.

If this is the case this is how i would see it...

Xavier & Lenshire's school for the gifted

> Beast (Pre-Blue Fur)
> Young Cyclops
> Young Jean Grey
> Young Storm
> Young Mastermind (Jason Stryker)
> Young Mystique
> Young Toad

During the corse of the movie, maybe Magneto realising he and xavier's ideas differ. He uses a fragile minded Jason Stryker to aid him, to convince others in there school that Magneto's way is right. It doesnt work on Mystique but she is just generally agree's with Magneto's idea but Toad is convinced. Forming the brotherhood, Xavier realises that he has had a hand in there formation and so creates the X-Men to counterbalance it.

I dont see a need for Gambit in the film, Judging by what i was told his role in the movie is, i think it was something to do with he was a mutant that escaped strykers base and wolverine seeks him out to find the location. But i havent seen the leaked film so i dont know if he is any other scenes or there is more to his story. But personally a mutant that is locked up by stryker and i'm guessing tortured the only person who could relate is Magneto...

So if Gambit is in the movie, im guessing Magneto had something to offer him. Otherwise i dont see any reason for him to be there.

mystique and toad being good guys at first? it could work. it would serve as a good backstory to x1

i have seen the leaked edition. and all i can say is gambit or rather gambit's potrayal by taylor kisch as gambit is just spot on. he really brings gambit to life. sure he's a young adult gambit. but he is just so convincing as gambit. great casting for taylor.

if you ever were a fan of the 90's animated series gambit then what you'll see does us gambit fans proud. so i wanted to see more of him. but gambit and gambit's whole backstroy as the cajun is just not well known enough.

checkout the gambit centered episode from the 90's animated series in season 2. i can't remember the name of the episode. i also used to have some gambit comics and gambit villians and his whole story is less known than wolverines so he could not carry his own movie as character, but i feel like he works better in a a team movie.

Gambit would be better in his own prequel or sequel from wolverine or re-introduce him to future x-men 4 story.

Same here on Taylor as Gambit. I definitely want to see Gambit again, even if it’s in the first class. He might join Magneto’s team but in the end leaves. Or he could remain independent. But chances are of him taking Wolverine’s place—being the one rescuing the young X-men team and perhaps competing for Jean’s affection with Scott, etc.

Ugh! You know, you're probably right about Gambit wanting Jean. And that's just strengthened my resolve not to see this movie if it is indeed made.

If he's around 22/23 in Wolverine and X2 is 15 years(So Stryker says) from the Weapen X project, Gambit would be 37/38. WAY too old for Rogue now.

Well, they've messed with some other stuff. If they really wanted Romy/young Gambit they'll find a way to make it happen. I would be willing to look the other way if they made Gambit younger...

i most definetly would love gambit to transfer into first class from wherever he ends up in wolverines movie. he deserves to be alongside the x-men and theres no better time than now to bring him onto the team, what with his intro into the films and all. they should still use the same gambit and cyclops in first class as was cast in wolverine tho so theres a good balance of continuity between the timelines. i know gambit probably wasn't older than cylops in the comics but oh well, he doens't need to be. its not like wolverines short like in the comcs. itd be a welcome change.

Gambit would need to have a good reason to be there, so far i cant think of one that would be good enough to explain his presence. Unless his love interest in the movie is a simular aged Storm... thus replacing the whole Rogue delimea

But since X4 probably won't happen, I expect to see Kitsch in First Class.

*Its not like they're keeping continuity with the source material anyway - Iceman and Angel won't be in the movie.

Yes i got it, it makes perfect sense... Gambit is hired to steal information from xaviers school for mr sinister so he can create the perfect weapon, using DNA from Jean Grey and Cyclops he creates the X-Man. in an elaborate ploy to.... Sorry this is to complex for Fox.

Gambit appears because he did something and xavier needs to prob his mind to find the answer...

I don't think so. A First Class movie is bound to be nothing but teen angst and Twilight-calibur romance. Gambit should have nothing to do with a trainwreck like that. save him for the wolverine sequels where he'll be used by a cast that has a liking for the character and sense to use him properly.
