Sequels Lauren Shuler Donner talks X-Men: First Class, Gambit and Deadpool

Yup. I've said it before: I sometimes suspect that Singer was afraid that Gambit would steal some of the spotlight away from Wolverine. We all know how much Singer doted on Wolverine...

^ Which is why Singer should've directed Wolverine and not so much x-men, he really loves/knows that character so much that it interfered with the other x-men's screen time/ stories. I would rather another director helm the next movie, Its just the question of who can....

I'm not sure I'd want to have Singer back. If he does direct an X4 or First Class, it's guaranteed that Gambit won't be in it; he made a deliberate choice to not include him in the first and second movies with a background cameo being the most he could have gotten in X3 if Singer had gotten his way,

I really would rather have a good X-Film then good treatment of one individual character, no matter how much I like that character. Cyclops is my favorite character and X-Men Origins: Wolverine probably gave Cyclops a more substantial role then the one he had in X2. I'd still rather rewatch X2. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer good cinema over fanservice.

Well, let Singer direct the Wolverine films then. He gets to dote on his favorite all he wants, producing quality movies in the process.

Meanwhile, we find another director *cough*Nolan*cough* who can make a good film without short-changes characters.

Nolan has yet to express interest in x-men and the way he's talking about bat man and not wanting heroe's like superman or other super powered villain's that he has even fought , you really think he'll work on this? Canemacar he won't come near it. unless it's to wreak it. and if he does i'll blame you for suggesting it. don't do that again.

Nolan trying to wreck X-men would still turn out better than X3.

seeing that x3 was fallowing the same formula as the both x1 and 2 I don't know. unbalanced story telling and the usual complaints is the norm. it's just some of us fans wont admit to it. but it was always there. always right from the beginning. and still no

Imagine, if Deadpool had gotten the Joker treatment.

lol if your suggesting he'd treat dead pool as he did joker I'm afraid your mistaken. first of all he'd make sure he never gets any powers not even the regeneration ability or the add on of wolverine healing factor. he's stated in plenty of interview that all super power heroes are just magic beings to him and he hates them. and you'll never see them in his batman films. man you don't even need me to tell you this.

Since Singer made two good quality X-men movies, I think he should be the one to do the X-men: First, second and hopefully third class also. And if X-men: First Class is going against Marvel’s Avengers in 2012(there’s always a three year gap between films), then the excessive use of special effect won’t help a weak and rushed plot.

I don't see them conflicting. Marvel typically has two films a year. Even if BB3 is released in July 2012... there will still be a June window for a spinoff. The fact that it does not appear they are making SM4/5 back to back opens up a slot for Fox. I see Wolverine 2 or First Class in that slot.

Nah. I wouldn't want to see Nolan. Let's change it up a bit.

i want Singer back to for this reason Singer cared about the story and the development of the characters first and the action second. While Ratner and Hood did it in the total opposite way of Action first story and characters second.

X men 2 was so good because he told the story very well he didn't rush things he didn't have or need huge action pieces in the film and that's what made it good.He brought in my opinion some intelligence like Nolan did with TDK to the series that Good and Ratner did not what so ever.

Well, Huge Hackman offered Wolverine to him. Guess what he said?

There goes Shuler's plan to have him back for First Class then.

I wonder who'd they get to direct a Gambit movie?

I don't think that was her plan to begin with.

She considered offering him First Class and/or a Gambit or deadpool flick.

"Nothing would please me more than to bring Bryan [Singer] on for another movie. And, if it's like the first Deadpool or the first Gambit, I think, I mean, I hope he would be interested..."

I can see First Class being put on the fast track and out by possibly December 2010. I can see Deadpool and Gambit being released both in 2011.

Maybe Fox could put their eggs in one basket and make it a Gambit/deadpool buddy flick?

I dont think a gambit or deadpool movie works without the xmen movie universe. Maybe Deadpool can be see in a sequel of the wolverine origins movie, but gambit need to be on a xmen 4

A Gambit or Deadpool movie will fail. Fox will have to add cameos of other mutants that have no comic history with them to draw in audiences. The poster above me is right, Deadpool should be in the Wolverine sequel and Gambit should appear only in X-Men movies.

I just don't see how all of these spin off's are going to happen.
-Deadpool
-Gambit
-Wolverine 2
-First-Class 1-3
-Magneto

7 X-movies. Keeping in trend with one being made every 3 years as it has been...? 21 years of X-atude. Either recasts will have to be done for some roles, or some (or most) of these movies will fall through.

LOL So many spin off's :oldrazz:
I'd be ok with a Gambit and Deadpool spin off. And Wolverine 2.

I can see a First Class, and a Wolverine 2 not Gambit maybe a Deadpool.
