Sequels Should Sony Persue Rights to the Kingpin?

No it wouldn't be weird, because for one Kingpin is suppose to be white, second the spidey movies shouldn't be connected to that crappy movie, third we could get an actual great actor who could make the character amazing, and just use prosthetics to make him big instead of getting a meat head to play the part who sucks at acting.

DD wasn´t a great movie but it wasn´t crap.
Crap were Catwoman, Elektra, Hulk etc., but Daredevil was OK.
I´m sure many fans would be sad if King Pin is white in spidey-movies (even if I know that he is white in the comics) because they want to see connections with other movies like they did with spider-man 2 when they put the punisher (not Tom Jane) there.
Micheal Clar Duncan is one of the best actors that couls play King Pin, to be honest I don´t know who can play him too, give me some names and maybe you convince me.

The prosthetics and make-up do wonders these days
They do it all the time with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence. If they can turn Eddie into a family of farting fat slobs in the Klumps and a huge fat woman in Norbit, they should be able to turn a white actor into the Kingpin with a 200 million dollar budget and make it believable.

Just an interesting thought on the subject, But does anyone think that the Kingpin of crime belongs in the Spiderman francise? Of course this would require legal rights to the character. Certainly it could pave the ways for some interesting stories and other villains that Spiderman would have to encounter. Stopping the Kingpin and ultimately bringing him down along with his accomplices that offer their services could make for an interesting movie. The Kingpin's rise to power and the ensuing crime wave would draw the interest of the entire city as well as the wall crawler. Just a thought, what do you all think?

No... I think he's best serve in the DareDevil films..... unless they choose not to use the character DD anymore, than yes.

The Daredevil franchise is pretty much dead.

I really don't think it matters what the Kingpin's skin color is. In fact, the Kingping should've been black in the Ultimate Universe. Would've thrown it up a bit.

Oh god yes. He is really the only remaining huge villain that could hold up a whole movie....with henchmen of course, but still. I really want to see the kingpin in a spider man movie.

With any luck....maybe

I just re-watched Daredevil, and I don't know why people harp on it so much.

It's pretty awesome. Better than Ghost Rider.

It is time for the boss of all bosses. The Big Daddy of them all ......THE KINGPIN.... Get him now. Kingpin for Spiderman 5.

I agree.....no MCD. But with that said who could portray the obese character and do you think it would require some kind of CGI for fight scenes?

^
You don't need to look for an obese actor, just find a really good actor and use prosthetics to give him the obese look. And the fights should be a mix of CGI and real action like how all the other spidey fights go down.

And with Kingpin he could have henchmen like the Shocker,I would leave Rhino out because you would basically make the Kingpin fight like the Rhino.

yes if you have Kingpin you need another villian to work for him.

I liked MCD as Kingpin and thought the DC of Daredevil was decent enough, if severely flawed. Anyone thought SM3 had too many plot threads needs to watch this.

But I digress. I think the Spider-Man movies don't need Kingpin yet. SM4 can easily hold up on its own without him with Lizard and possibly Kraven in it and delving deeper into the love story. Ideas might start running thin around SM5, and at that time he could be introduced. But I just don't think he is majorly needed, yet.

I think a SM movie about Kingpin vs. the mysterious Rose with henchmen in between (such as Scorpion or Hobgoblin) switching sides could be interesting. But Spidey movies are about Peter's inner struggles and villains that reflect that. While close to the comics it is kind of departing into an episodic form of narrative while the first 3 and most likely 4 feel very much connected as a larger single narrative told in chapters.

But a recurring Kingpin villain would be interesting. If Daredevil sequels aren't coming (and at this point I'd say they aren't) than maybe. But I doubt they'll pay money to put him in there. Why not just use Rose would be Sony's argument as outside of kids who are now in their '20s who watched the TAS, what general audience knows Kingpin, anyway? Venom, Doc Ock, Lizard and the general image of Goblin (Green or Hob not being specific) are the only ones general audiences recognize, anyway. And that is what Sony cares about.

That'd be cool, especially if they can't decide on what villains to put in future films.

MCD for one thing is not that big anymore and he said that he isn't gonna be ever again.Another thing is he isn't a good actor and the spidey villains of these movies have had good actors play the parts. And because the DD movie went with MCD which was a huge mistake, why should the spidey movies have to use MCD as well?

And the Kingpin character shouldn't be in SM4,but he should be in SM5.The opening of the SM5 movie could be Peter in a waiting room of a psychiatrist's office. There could be a t.v. bolted in a wall that is talking about how crime is going up with the mysterious crimelord known as the Kingpin and how nobody can stop him, because nobody knows who he is.

Then Peter's spidey sense goes off as the door to the waiting room explodes by a blast and the Shocker and some guy named Jason Philip Macendale comes walking in.

There looking for the psychiatrist, the Kingpin has sent them to kill him because the Kingpin has found out that his wife has been seeing a psychiatrist and the Kingpin fears that she might of told him that he is the Kingpin.

When the Shocker and Jason Philip Macendale make their way to the psychiatrist's office they demand the doctor to hand over the file of a Vanessa Fisk.

As the doctor is trying to find the file he starts telling them that he will give them money that he has in his secret safe inside his office behind a painting on a wall if they let him live.

After they get the file,Jason Philip Macendale agrees to the deal and asks for the combination. After the doctor tells him it,Jason Philip Macendale tells the Shocker to blast him.

But before he can spidey comes through the door and crashes into the Shocker. The two fight in the office until the Shocker jumps through a window and starts running down the fire escape.

Spidey thinks that Jason Philip Macendale is a patient who was in the psychiatrist's office before the Shocker showed up.Peter never saw who came through the waiting room when the blast blew the door open.

So spidey tells the doctor and the patient to stay here and call the police as spidey goes out the window to confront the Shocker.

Jason Philip Macendale pulls a gun out and tells the doctor to stay put, then Jason Philip Macendale goes over to the wall safe to get the money, but Jason Philip Macendale also finds a patient file also inside. The file belongs to a Harry Osborn.

Jason Philip Macendale is curious to why this is the only file inside the safe when all these other folders are on a nearby shelf out in the open.So Jason Philip Macendale opens the folder and smiles when he sees what's in it.

Harry has told his doctor that is father was the GG and where the Goblin's lair is.Jason Philip Macendale thinks he no longer has to be a Kingpin thug.

Jason Philip Macendale starts leaving the office, but before he does he kills the doctor so the doctor won't tell anyone what he has found.

Outside spidey and the Shocker continue their fight until spidey defeats him. When spidey hears a gunshot from the window of the doctor's office spidey goes back there to check it out.

When spidey finds the doctor dead and the guy he thought was his patient gone, spidey realizes that the guy and the Shocker were partners.

When the Hobgoblin shows up later in the movie he is the one who flushes out the Kingpin as the two of them have a mob war.

possibly...

first of all, I am NOT fascist... and I have African-American friends... but why is it that movies constantly take white characters from comics and make them black? In Batman, Harvey Dent was black, then in Batman Forever he was white... Now Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin? Give me a break! Once again, I am NOT racial... but Marvel's given black's a few characters. Hobie Brown/Prowler to mention one... it's kind of like remaking Men in Black and using a white guy as Will Smith's character... no sense whatsoever

second of all, Spidey owns rights to Kingpin, not the sleezy Daredevil.

And third of all, we should be glad Daredevil didn't steal a character like Doctor Octopus or Venom for their stupid frickin movie!

Kingpin has always been a spidey villain,DD just stole him,so why shouldn't spidey have Kingpin in his movie,he's one of the classics.

Goldgoblin, glad you believe in Kingpin for SM5 as stated in your signature. He deserves to be home where he belongs and thats with Spidey. The hell with Daredevil. He can be done. If this thing is to continue he is one of the few major villains left.

BRINGIN DA KINGPIN.....

Ask the white directors.:o

YES YES YES!!!!!!!!

I love Kingpin, I definitely want to see him in a future Spider-Man film. I say either get Big Show to be Kingpin and have him take dialect classes or get an actor in prosthetics.

Just look what prosthetics did for Vinne Jones.

Well said Mr Socko, couldn't agree more. The king of crime and his villainous henchmen can put a hurtin on Spidey. The ironic thing about it all is this time its not just Spidey stopping the villain but the villains coming for Spidey.
BRINGIN DA KINGPIN....

Hell Yeah. Kingpin would rock. Scorpion or Shocker or Electro works for the Kingpin beat Spiderman and bring Spiderman to him. Kingpin could choke the hell out of Spiderman. How would our hero get out of this one.
