they're gonna change it slightly no matter wahat, but I think it should stay the same for the most part.

I loved it, and i think once people quit moaning about it and accept it, they might learn to like it too... just my opinion though... i realize I'm WAY WAY in the minority here.
not really... there's a lot more people here who have different opinions about the suit, but BT.net is more one sided than this place.

Jake Thompson writhe a very good critic about Superman Returns! I am not agree 100 % but he say a lot of the things I was saying a long time ego! One of the things he say, and that is soemthing that I say about the film idea, is .. that Making SUPERMAN RETURNS a quasi-sequel of sorts didn't help, made no sense and it seemed to confuse a lot of people.

here is something about the suit

Another reason for this film having a Tim Burton feel to it is the dark costume that Superman wears. This is the only costume that I found problematic. Why was it dark to begin with? Does anyone remember Christopher Reeve wearing a dark Superman costume? Oh wait, that's right. It was in SUPERMAN III when he developed a dark persona for a while after being exposed to that ersatz kryptonite. Why did Bryan Singer think it was a good idea for Superman to fly around in a maroon and dark blue suit? The colors of the costume Christopher Reeve wore in the four Superman films he appeared in were just fine; there was absolutely no need to darken them. Someone should've told Bryan Singer that while darkening the costumes was a good idea for X-MEN, it wasn't a good idea for Superman. SUPERMAN RETURNS skips over the events of SUPERMAN III, but yet SUPERMAN RETURNS has Superman wearing the dark costume from SUPERMAN III. I'm sure some people found that confusing (or at the very least mind-boggling). Bryan Singer has often stated that there were certain basic elements of Superman that shouldn't be messed around with, but yet he messed around with the colors of the Superman costume (which seems to qualify as a basic element of Superman) Can anyone say flip-flop?

This is how I would change the suit. The neckline is a little wider and lower, the colors are a bit brighter with a little different blue hue. I think the S belt buckle is too distracting, so a simple solid yellow design would be better. My main problem was his boots. I really didn't dig the designer sport boots look. It should be subtly textured and not complicated. And, the soles shouldn't be so wide because it'll look like goofy duck feet. Get rid of the sporty look for the boots! His suit should be elegant, powerful, and simple.

My god. Straighter neckline and it is absolutely perfect.

If this was the first pic, my only complaint would be he has a skinny looking neck.

I still say they need to work on the trunks design more... more like the Jim Lee design. IMO, that was the perfect design.

YES!
A bigger sign , taller boots, underwear is too small. Routh need to work is upper body as well. Is upper body must be wider than is legs. Never liked Bryan signer s decision to change the colors whats wrong with him?

no, not Alex Ross' style... he makes the shield WAY too big, and the shield empowers everything else and draws your eyes to the symbol. There's more to Superman than just the symbol.

The TW-as-Supes thread (cross-posted to the Justice thread, I believe) has some completely new, different, and contemporary teen Clark/Supes suit ideas based on the SV *Aquaman* suit. I see no reason these suit ideas couldn't inspire some changes to the SR suit.

As a fan of just about any version of Superman, I'm hoping I won't get flamed for posting this here since these pix are relevant to the suit discussion. Change everyone's heads if that makes it less controversial... Stick BR's head on all five of the guys if you like...

But I didn't make the design; please credit Wilde/ask Wilde re: any future manips.

Change the shield back to black and add the Kandor belt and this suit would be perfect!

ew... no. We don't need something THAT drastic for Superman to look like a superhero.

I'm gonna go ahead and bump this... just because it's that cool.

I don't really care about the costume, I just hope the sequel is good.

please don't speak for everyone, because I know I won't be fine...

but then again, that's not what we saw in the movie... we saw something completely different.

You know what? Yesterday I looked SR for the 3 rd time and Im more convince than before I think the costume is OK It s not better the comics but it will do for the sequels.

that picture is not the representation of what we see in the film... the suit that was used in the film is much darker than that.

Leave the suit the same color, but change the belt buckle. Its kindof hokey belt buckle. I DO NOT want the same suit as the 80's superman suit. The suit was fine for that era,but not now. I like the darker colors makes it look more authentic not comic bookish...
Also, gotta remember the suits gotta fit the build of the actor, not the other way around. Roth isn't all that big,but is tall so the suits gotta be proportionate to his build. Maybe Roth will gain some size by next sequel and they will have to re-adjust the suit accordinly. Not sure why everyone is fixed on Christopher Reeves suit, that was his style this is a new person, new movie, new series. Let Reeves RIP,Let the 80's suit RIP,let Roth define his own version of superman not let some 20+year old version dictate it..
I like the new suit except maybe the belt buckle, I will concede maybe the S could be a tad bigger, but again Roth isn't a 'wide' person so its streamlined for his body. I like the dark colors makes it more serious of a movie, and cinematic appeal imo...Leave the bright colors to the comics.

they need the suit to be brighter... a superhero is not just about what he stands for anymore... he's got to be visually appealing as well, and he was anything but that in SR.
