most likely, unless they feel obliged to shop it around
Question: Disney owns Marvel as well as the tv channel ABC
So would a Marvel live action tv series, like the Punisher, be put on there?
ABC had Lost didn't it?
Yes, but I think a true Punisher themed show is much darker then Lost would ever be.
I wish the Punisher had been brought into a Daredevil movie or with Spider-man. He made his first appearance with spidey anyway.
Punisher and DD has potential.
Joe Carnahan should write and direct it. If that were to happen = awesome.
I still think they made a HUGE mistake by not carrying on with Tom Jane as The Punisher and just making a sequel to that movie, he has still been the best representation of the character on screen for me and that movies popularity has only risen over the years, really bad mistake on the part of Lionsgate.
Definitely. While I do like Ray as The Punisher, Jane is still the best for me and Lion's Gate should've overseen more of an effort to give the 2004 movie a good sequel.
What Lionsgate should have done is put more effort into making the '04 movie itself, instead of handicapping everyone involved with absurd time and monetary restraints.
Six years later and it still burns my ass. The fact that Hensleigh & co. were able to make such a awesome movie despite those assclowns is a testament to the skill and dedication of everyone involved with the production.
Artisan was the studio that made 2004's Punisher, by the time the movie was done Artisan was bought by Lion's Gate, so really the only thing they had to do with it was releasing it. They were still dummies for putting it up against Kill Bill Vol. 2 though.

I agree the only way I see him coming to theatres is as a supporting role or a villain role?I can't see anyone taking a chance at another reboot for a least a decade. Unless they could tap someone high profile and talented like a Chris Nolan to Direct. But I don't see that happening, the Punisher has a terrible track record at the box office.
Not sure which studio owns the rights, but the only way I see the Punisher making a return to the big screen is if he shows up as a supporting character in another Marvel film.
