Should they make another Punisher movie?

I think if they made some smarter choices with the 2004 movie it would've worked out better.

Money launderers and putting it in Florida were death sentences.

Still more people were willing to see it on it's opening weekend than the entirety of PWZ theatrical run.

But yeah, the main issue with the movie comes from some story telling choices, Hensleigh got good performances all around in my opinion and shot a really good looking film (plus the man knows how to shoot a good looking explosion). I think it really fell on budgetary constraints, because earlier drafts had some interesting/cool sequences that had to be cut down or flat out cut, one or two extra action set pieces would have been nice, especially the bank robbery scene.

Also, the Florida setting was kind of already in place before Hensleigh signed on to direct, in the end he just realized shooting there would offer the most freedom. Not to mention Frank's been to Florida earlier on in the comics history to kill the Costas.

Well, I don't think they can make another film. First the original with Dolph Lundgren, then a reboot in 2004, then another one in 2008. All three of them failed.

There's no reason why any film company would want to touch this again.

Technically the '04 one could be consider a mild success, over $50 million worldwide + great DVD sales and the fact it got a sequel greenlight.

I would love to see them start an HBO/Showtime type series starting where Tom Jane and '04 left off. Now that would be cool in my book.

A show would awesome but unlikely. But for a TV version of the character, I would go for Kevin Durand, he'd make for a good Frank Castle.

Yea a Punisher series in the mould of The Wire would actually be ****ing sick.

Sure. Make another one, but do it differently. Use castle as someone that is knee deep in industrial espionage and hes too bad ass to be stopped by any type of enforcement or something like that. Anything is better than the avenging brooding street vigilante angle. PWZ was just horrible and the gore was way over the top to the point it takes away from the enjoyment of the movie.

2004's Punisher is horrible, P: WZ is better but has a lack of good interpretation, good peace and yeah, good villains (imho Jigsaw is better than Saint but...Glass is better than Jigsaw!).

A mix of the two movies (P:WZ and Punisher) will makes a good flick. But yeah, with Ray Stevenson.

That could be cool if they made a tv series on HBO/Showtime. I can see the violence now. Plus they could go more in depth about him.

Will Patton was the best villain bar none out of all the films.

I saw Punisher Warzone last night and it was terrible. There have 3 Punisher movies at this point and none of them have been good. Should they ever try to make a forth one and if so how do they break this cycle?

Let me put it to you this way...

I would like it if they did make another punisher movie but they should wait a while. At least a decade because it was like four years in between the last two punisher movies and both of them are not in the same continum.

I agree 1,000,000,000% with that statement. Combine the best parts of both Punisher films and keep Stevenson and we'd have a solid Punisher film for sure

They should definitely make a new movie. They need to learn from the Bourne series and do something with that kind of intense espionage action, but with capes and supervillains. Punisher and his high tech weaponry vs. superpowered villains would be cinematic gold! People forget that Marvel was most interesting when they pit different styles against each other.

But why should a guy who has had 3 cracks at the movies get ANOTHER movie before other, more well deserving heroes?

I'd like to see the likes of Moon Knight be the next R-Rated Marvel movies.

agreed. As much as I love the Punisher, Moon Knight and a slew of other R rated marvel characters need their shot, especially Moon Knight

Yeah, especially this new run they did with Charlie Huston. I have two TPB with the issues written by Huston and if they just went off of those, they'd have a badass movie for sure

I've only read 29 and 30. But they were great. Gonna try and keep getting it.
