i have one thing to say to you dude

:awesome:

Yeah dude, I actually met him a couple years ago in NY. He came into a restaurant I was working at the time. He's a really cool guy.

^ Awesome! I hope I'll get a chance to meet him one day. It'd be awesome to talk about comics and stuff. I'll see if he'll mind getting an account here (that'd be sick).

Yeah, Jane owns. I remember some people around here were put off when he said he thought Punisher 2 should be more like Death Wish or Taxi Driver than Spider-Man, but considering the abomination that Lionsgate Lexi unleashed on the world I think it would be safe to let Tom have some creative control should such a film become a reality.

^ I agree, it'd be sweet if Jane came back. Also, I love the avatar, that was a kick ass movie.

alright so interesting question-

IF Jane were given a chance to direct a new Punisher film but he decides NOT to play the character...which actor would you like to come in and try their hand at Frank?

I vote Dominic Purcell.

Yes, but you've not stated why Jane who's pretty beloved as the Punisher would return to the series in some capacity ... but not in the capacity that we all have accepted him as. Or why an Englishman would be more suited to the role than the person who's more identified with the role and hypothetically in your scenario already on set.

Dominic Purcell is Australian.

anyway does it matter why he wouldnt do it? all im asking is that if he decided not to play the character but direct the film who else could do the job of handling The Punisher?

oh and Purcell would look like such a menacing Frank. He's also tall, bulky and can actually act.

Purcell would be good, also with his hair grown out he looks exactly like Castle. I think at the beginning of Equilibrium they show him in all black with a pump action, looks just like Frank. But If Jane wanted to do anything with a new Punisher I'd be cool with it either way. I'd rather have someone who loves the character involved instead of someone that went through a few TPBs in one weekend.

Purcell would be a good Castle...also a good Marcus in a Gears of War movie

Dominic Purcell was in Equilibrium?

ive been saying this since Gears of War came out, if they made a movie Purcell would make an AWESOME Marcus Fenix.

He would make a good Fenix, I could see him as Kratos too.

@Punisher_Max: Yes, he had a brief appearance in it though. It was at the early beginning during the art raid in the old apartments. I think he was a resistence general.

Dominic Purcell should be considered for every video game bad ass.

anyway ill have to rewatch it now to see him!

another candidate for me would be Jon Hamm from Mad Men. While Purcell would make a fierce looking Frank, something about the way he looks just screams savage/brutal, Hamm has this cool demeanor and could play a more cold and calculated Frank.

I like the Punisher but the movies just didn't hit the spot for me.

funny enough today I had a deep conversation about the role of the Punisher in Modern Society...it was cool discussing his methods and how we secretly want to be him but cant do it.

i think the key to a successful Punisher movie is to have a villain so terrible, disgusting, and evil that we WANT him to die a horrible painful death at the hands of Frank, yhat way people can connect with a character that beside killing other bad guys is a murderer. The Punisher has no redeeming qualities so making a movie about him is hard which is why you need an ever more horrible villain.

I disagree that he's got no redeeming qualities. He may be cold and detached, but if he didn't care he would have stopped after getting revenge for his family.

One way they can ground the Punisher is by reading some Mack Bolan/Executioner books. Punisher is so heavily influenced by him anyways, why not take some of Mack's more humanizing aspects. He's just as brutal, but he's a pretty likable guy too.

i also disagree, hes not nlikable, i lie hi alot, and my wan to be him is no secret, if i could id be the puinisher, thouh ive only got a red version of the skull shirt :oldrazz:

i didnt say everyone hated him, I love him as a character, hell if i had Marine training and stuff and had nothing to live for id die trying to do what he does...but we're a small sect. To the GA the Punisher is just a normal guy who kills people.

In the Max series it even touches upon this that he only feels good when he mows down mobsters, criminals etc. He is a KILLER but he is on OUR side.
