Should they make another Punisher movie?

That's true, Frank being suped up would cool, but not like Frankencastle. But then you have those that'll go no it takes away from him being the punisher because he doesn't use stuff like serums or formulas. I can see their point, but they can just have it where whenever Frank gets banged up Fury heals him with shield tech and supplies him with good hardware, so long as he plays ball when Fury asks him to.

i honestly dont think it takes away from Frank as a person. the infinity formula just makes him live longer and heal better no? its not like superhuman or anything, it just halts aging which is great because it just means The Punisher will keep growing and learning.

i think it would make sense that Fury administer it to Frank during a mission gone bad and he needed it to keep him alive. i think it be a great way to tie The Punisher from the MAX series (Fury is there) to the whole Marvel Universe. I could even see Frank tell IM and Cap "you guys go out and fight these "big guns" but who is there when you are gone? I clean the streets, i take out the trash, you just ignore them."

with all the free time i have i could write a damn script.

To quote Arnold from one of my favorite movies, "Do it, do it not, do it!"

Having the Punisher play into the M.U. universe in such a big way, like meeting Cap or popping up in the Avengers only shows how useless the character is. It's the same in the comics. Who exactly is he gonna kill? If you put him into a world filled with characters like The Red Skull and other top-notch villains that are threatening, you'd expect Castle to then take it into his hands to take them out. I've never felt Castle was the guy who saw something as too big for him to tackle. He'd do it anyway, even as an old man. Why would he limit himself to street level thugs and the mob? The problem is, Castle won't kill the Red Skull or any of them because the other heroes won't let him, and in a bigger sense, the filmmakers and writers of the comics won't let him either.

On topic if the Infinity Formula, i'd prefer they not use it. One of the things I love about The Punisher is that he ages, and I love how he handles things as he gets older, how he deals with what he's doing and who he is. I doubt that they'll go with the Vietnam origin unfortunately. I liked how they handled his war background in the '04 film and I see no reason to not to keep it for this next time. Retool it abit, and perhaps thematically adapt Born rather than adapt it strictly.

Again, I'd prefer he stay out of the rest of the M.U. And if they HAVE to keep him in the universe, keep him as far away from costumed heroes as possible.

I see your points, but I think he could kill off villains because if you look at how they mix the 616 with the 1610 universe, they adapt a lot from the 1610 especially in terms of killing off villains. Not always however but there were a few. The few that come to mind: Doc Ock, Whiplash, Iron Monger, Green Goblin, Venom, Blob, Agent Zero, Cyclops, Jean Grey/Phoenix, Prof. Xavier, Absorbing Man, etc. And seeing all the heroes that died in the Ultimate U including the Red Skull & Dr. Doom a lot can happen. It may or it may not, but I doubt marvel would buy back the rights and put him in another movie just for him to be useless. If they wanted to do that, they could have just left him at lions gate.

I also see your point on the infinity formula, but they don't even have to do that. Just heal him with nano-tech. If done right it could work, hell it's shield, what don't they have?

I'd use Punisher to start a little Street-Level hero series. It could lead into Moon Knight, Luke Cage, Iron Fist & maybe even Daredevil (maybe Fox has given up on DD? They didn't even try for a sequel like they did with the FF).

Honestly, if ever there was a storyline made for these types of characters to be on screen it was Shadowland! Just tweak things a bit and wham! Street level justice!

I'd prefer Frank's interactions be limited mostly to the street-level Marvel Knights types as well. He'd stick out like a sore thumb to me in something like Avengers.

That'd be awesome, I haven't read any of the comics but it looks like an interesting story.

knowing Frank he probably COULD take down anyone from the Avengers. Frank is smart, resourceful and knows his opponents. He could easily wipe off any of the evil villians if he wanted to. Could he be killed easy? sure, but what would make him succeed vs a villian is that unlike Cap, Stark, etc he doesnt care if the Villian is alive.

if Daredevil can fit in among the Marvel Superheroes it would make NO sense if they didnt include Frank, Daredevil doesnt have any amazing powers outside of heightened senses and agility no?

What they COULD do is, in the Avengers, have a giant battle in Central Park. There are casualties caught in the cross-fire. It seems irrelavant at first, but then Marvel Studios goes ahead and makes "The Punisher Kills The Marvel Universe"! Frank Castle's family was caught in the cross-fire and Castle swears vengeance.

:awesome:

And his pugilistic/martial arts! Don't forget those, lol!

It's pretty interesting, it takes place after Siege and it's basically a build up of all the stuff Murdock has been going through in life with the hand and how power corrupts him. It's pretty good, especially as he starts to interact with the other guys like Moon Knight, Castle, Kingpin, etc.

Yes! Frank vs. Doom!

lol that comic is the reason i think The Punisher is one of the most dangerous characters in the MI

Marvel should get Daredevil back... and cross him with Punisher

^ That could work well. Murdock has Frank as a client, prison break, Frank's loose and he goes after some really big game: Kingpin. But it won't be easy as Fisk's psychotic hitman, Bullseye gets called into action.

Everybody's a tough guy in their own comic, and it also depends who is writing them. Punisher is the kind of guy that can kill other heroes because he'd stake them out and snipe them from miles away. However, one on one, I don't see him beating up Captain America, Thor or Iron Man. Definitely not Hulk.

Just watched The Punisher film with Tom Jane, it is one of my favorite Marvel films now. I seriously want a sequel to that with Tom Jane as The Punisher again.

I'm liking several of the things I've read in this thread such as a connection to Fury, him potentially being the start of more Street level hero films and having a connection to Daredevil. I feel the most important step right now is, as another user said, decide what story they want to tell. Is it 'Nam, early days (in 80's New York?), Slavery/ Human Trafficking Rings, Drug runners, sadists? After that they can fit in a villain from the comics if the want. They also need to decide what version of Castle is to be used and how is his world going to be constructed. Overall, I'm incredibly excited to here this revival. I hope that this is truly the one to get the film some praise. People need to see that this isn't a blood and gore fest, it's something more first and foremost.

its a great movie that gets better with time. you can just feel that there was a bigger movie waiting to burst but it didnt. such a shame really.

we're all excited that there is just something new to talk about concerning The Punisher. I hope Marvel creates a Marvel Knights universe that acknowledges whats going on now with IM, Cap, Thor, Hulk but stays within the darker characters such as GR, Moon Knight, Daredevil, Blade, The Punisher, etc.
