Siege Ends The Avengers

A fairly realistic team I'd be happy with would be:

Captain America (Bucky or Steve, I'm cool with either)
Thor
Iron Man (if wiping his brain clean to protect their secrets isn't enough to make the other heroes forgive him, there's something wrong with them)
Spider-Man (he does fit well enough with the Avengers and I always thought his joining the team would be a good idea before NA)
Hank Pym
Hawkeye (no more of this Ronin bulls***)
Mockingbird
She-Hulk
Beast (the demise of SWORD does free him up, and he's great on the Avengers)
Ms. Marvel
Ares (takes the place of Wolverine because he fits with the Avengers better)
Vision 2.0 (both Bendis and Slott snapped the new Vision up and used him with their Avengers teams; clearly, the Vision is still pretty synonymous with the Avengers, even if he's not the original)

Yeah, it's official, canceled at issue 5

Huh. I'm of mixed emotion on this. I actually really like the series so I'm sad to see it end, but I'm also looking to drop 10 or so titles by April or so to get my spending under control and this takes care of one for me.

So only two issues to go huh? Sucks.

I like the line-up, but don't like when they get too big. I have no idea who I'd drop though (maybe Mockingbird, but you know, spousal priveleges..)

I'd love to see how Beast and Spidey interact on a continuing basis. Ordinarily, I think either one needs a straight man (Wolverine/Wonderman), but I think they could have a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle kind of a vibe.

I love Ares, and think he'll be more annoyed by Spidey than anyone ever.

One of the things really missing from Avengers for a while, is that there seems to be no leader. I would love for that to be Cap (either variety). I would also like to see the core of Cap, Thor, IM, and Hank be decisive and take no crap from the rank and file. Even to the point of telling the others to the leave the room while they discuss things. Although I was never one to believe that the Avengers needed the Big Three to be the Avengers, If they're there, they should be on a different level from the others. Sorry, that's just the elitist in me....

And thinking on it, another thing I'd like to see is a return to Avengers Mansion. Back in the day, it was almost like a character, like the Baxter Building, and Dr. Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum. If we're going back to old school, let's return to the mansion.

That's a huge team, I think I know why you made it that way though. There are so many great characters that need a place to be and that can't hold an ongoing. That's why I liked having 2 Avengers teams, more exposer for smaller named characters.

Captain America
Thor
Iron Man
Spider-Man
Wonder Man
Beast
Justice
Hawkeye
Hank Pym

This would probably be my ideal team right now. I would have others that would be cool to see, but the team can't get too large. I really want Beast and Wonder Man on a team together again. :(

It's definitely a big team. But I think that's probably unavoidable. Besides, the JLA had like 13 members during the Morrison/Waid/Kelly era, and that's widely considered one of their best eras. Big teams can be done.

I agree about the leadership group, too. Founders + Cap would be the best tribunal-style group.

The old mansion would be great, but I'd be cool with the Infinite Avengers Mansion too. It's like Avengers Mansion 2.0, which I think works well with this rebirth of the Avengers.

If I could choose a lineup it would be:

New Avengers
Hawkeye (Clint)
Spider-man
Spider-woman
Luke Cage
Mockingbird
Captain America (Bucky)

Mighty Avengers
Captain America (Steve Rogers)
Yellowjacket
Quicksilver
Phoenix
Beast
Ms. Marvel
Arachne

No love for Beast returning as an Avenger, Havok? :(

I just hope Wolverine isn't back on the team.

I'll do you one better, bring back Hydrobase! That thing was cool, right off the shores of The Statue of Liberty.

And I want to edit my Avengers wish list to include Black Widow. The team I made only had Ms. Marvel as the teams only female. It'll work great since Bucky's Cap now, not to mention she FRIGGIN ROCKS!:word:

Bring back the Avengers civilian support staff too. Jarvis (of course), John Jameson (pilot), Michael O'Brien (security), ect. Peggy Carter was their comms chief but as seen in recent issues of Cap, she's not doing so good as her health goes.

They were great supporting characters!

Really? I haven't been following X-Men, but I think he left to join SWORD, right? SWORD is being canceled, can someone fill me in on why/how Beast left the X-Men.

He was talking about Wolverine.

he left the X-Men because Scott has become a huge...silly goose...and he couldn't take it anymore. Plus he wanted to have more sex with his freak of a girlfriend.

My dream rosters post Dark Reign...

Avengers (main team, used for big threats)
Captain America (Steve Rogers)
Thor
Iron Man
Ms. Marvel
Wasp (Pym)
Spider Woman
Storm
Songbird

New Avengers (street level team/Ninja fighting squad, lol)
Hawkeye-Leader (Clint Barton, no Ronin)
Spider-Man
U.S. Agent
Mockingbird
She-Hulk
Black Widow
Luke Cage
Stature
Wolverine (Only appears every once in a while)

Chicago Avengers (lol, this won't happen but what the hell)
Ant-Man (Eric O'Grady)
War Machine
Iron Fist
Hercules
Dr. Voodoo
Tigra
Scarlet Witch
Moonstone

Beast had a big problem with Magneto on Utopia and a real big problem with X-Force, Cyclops' killing squad.

Sorry, goes to show how much I pay attention to X-Men, lol.:awesome:

That would be great. But besides Peggy, John Jameson's out in space as Stargod, unless something's changed that. Still, the whole idea of the Avengers as an organization with a support staff rather than just a team of heroes is cool.

Yea, basically this. I think X-Force being Scott's own personal league of assassins was the deciding force though.

So glad there's at least one X-Man (Ex-Man?) who objected that strongly (or, you know, at all) to Scott's personal kill crew. I hate the very idea of X-Force. :csad:

I don't think Beast knows about X-Force per-say. He just suspects something going on and couldn't deal with the dark path that Scott and Emma have led the X-Men to.

That said, that's why I think that Beast should return to the X-Men to get Scott away from the darkness.
