Sigourney Weaver... Emma Frost

• Sigourney Weaver was set to play Emma in Bryan Singer's X-Men 3 but after he left the project for Superman Returns, the story changed considerably and the character was dropped. Singer's version was to have Emma as an old flame and colleague of Charles Xavier who had empathetic and other telepathic abilities and would play a major role in the Jean Grey's transformation into the Dark Phoenix.

The people at Fox aren't apparently the nicest people to work with and when you got a offer from another studio with loads of money whatta ya do?. Many other director's have stated this (about Fox) too. Now, I don't know have Singer ever said anything like that in public but we all know what he thinks after all the shait he got when he was making X1 and X2.

it alll started with Dan Harris and his movie Imaginary Heroes that had Sigourney Weaver in it. And its such a fun movie, and he promised her the part of Emma Frost in X3.

And when you listen to the Signourney Weaver commentary on the Imaginary Heroes dvd, she speaks with such admiration and respect for Dan Harris. and rightfully so, Imaginary Heroes was really good, especially for like Dan Harris's first time directing and writing a movie.

I'm surprised at how many people in this thread seem to be in favor of her as Emma. Usually, they'd cry evil on how she's far too old for the role or how stupid some idiots are for even suggesting her in the first place and that they should jump off a cliff for it, but instead go right ahead to post some teenybopper's name for the role who couldn't even act her way out of a paper bag. Alright, I may be exaggerating things a bit, but it's great that some people are finally seeing the light. If they ever decided to go with an older Emma, by all means pick her. Although, I do agree that getting the rights back from Fox should be their top priority. Marvel needs to hop to it and fast. Hulk's getting all the glory now that Marvel's in charge.

I think Sigourney is damn sexy. Sometimes it's not about young age, but rather overt sexual appeal and Weaver packs a lot of that to me. Plus, if I recall correctly, Bryan wanted the character to be emphathic, not telepathic.

Sigourney could definitely play the older sex kitten who screws around with your emotions well.
