Yeah, me too. I haven't read too much Hellblazer, but I know enough that it wasn't very faithful. Still a cool movie though.

I've been told that there's actually an "extremist christian cult" in the Silent Hill game universe, called "The Order," which did indeed burn witches throughout the town's history and at some point separated into both the extreme christian sect and the samael-worshipping sect. If this is true, I must admit I'm a lot less bothered by the film's third and final act.
