I was at a wedding and my gf was having difficulty getting a good shot with her camera and she gives it to me and I take some outstanding shots. She's like wow, these are really good and I'm like, "It's because I'm Asian".
Yes I said it in good fun.
But it just really annoys me when people use their ethnicity, sexuality as a crutch or what they seem to be most proud of.
mixed race eh?Could be worse, I could be a cracker. Well more so of one.![]()
Half caste isn't a very common term at least in the States. I'm not sure of it's literary roots but it sounds better than Half Breed.mixed race eh?
I can live with that, half of the time...
quick question, do you mind being called half caste? I hear it's rude but for the life of me, don't know why? I've always associated the term with the weather like when they say a cloud is overcast, like half cast would be somewhere in the middle but apparently it's not...

No way man I want my chance to shake the hand of Christopher Reeve.
and BOB ROSS!
He paints your portrait while you wait in line to get in.
yeah, in a happy little forrest.
I never quite understood how anyone can be proud of something they didn't earn and in no way had any control over.
Being proud of being straight is about the same as being proud of being tall. You didn't earn it. You had no choice in the matter. It just is what it is.
That's why patriotism is ridiculous.

Not even the same thing. You may not have any control over where you're born, but you certainly have control over where you continue to live as an adult. People who live in a particular country and consider themselves "patriotic" consider themselves that because they choose to continue to live there.
With being black, white, gay, tall, short, whatever, there is NO choice at all.
aren't poor people usually patriotic?
well, more like un-usually patriotic.
I wouldn't attempt to categorize any part of society as patriotic or unpatriotic based on social status. I think your doing so cheapens your argument to a point that goes beyond reason.
am I lying and or wrong?
I asked a question which you can either answer as a categoric "no" a more levelheaded "not to my knowledge" or a "yes"
I'm making a very valid point or your observation about the choice people have to live one place or the other.
There's no way anyone can answer that question with any degree of certainty - not me and not you. So the answer, for both of us, is I don't know. Which makes the question irrelevant to this discussion.

Er, no they don't. If a German moved to Spain, he doesn't all of a sudden start supporting Spain at the World Cup.Not even the same thing.
