Sly Cooper 4 anyone?

I couldn't find a sly cooper collection thread so I'm posting this here, just picked up the collection today, it's my first time playing any sly cooper game, seems pretty good so far
 
It makes me very VERY happy that's for sure!

But I'm wondering if it'll be a PSP game which I know would dissapoint a lot of people here but I'd love.
 
If it's only on the PSP it's probably because they know it won't sell enough to warrant a full on AAA high definition release.

But like I said, if.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's going to be on PSP fo' sho but if it appeared wouldn't it pretty much be for the same reason any PSP game is made?

Sly's the underdog when it comes to Ratchet, Jak and himself. I'm not saying the games aren't as good but they certainly aren't as popular. Jak and Daxter got shafted to PSP last year, it could happen here, maybe even PSP2.
 
It could also be a smaller downloadable title.

why not? The Jak series was a high profile platformer for Sony on the PS2 (more so than Sly) and they went and continued it on the PSP rather than give it a PS3 sequel. It wouldnt surprise me if they did that here with Sly
 
I just got my HD Collection of the triology today and can't wait to finally play them. Sly 4 is not that big of a surprise right? It has been rumored for a while, but good to get some actual proof of it. IMO, I think it's 80/20 to come out on the PS3 over the PSP.
 
yea but that was more like a spin-off, the main series was essentially over after Jak 3, Sly 4 seems to be a more direct sequel, I honestly would be surprised if it's only for psp, not disappointed though, I mean it's been teased about in 2 ps3 games now, Infamous and The Sly Collection, it would just surprise me if it's announced as a psp title

Jak & Daxter got shafted to the PSP because Naughty Dog has become focused on the Uncharted series. When another developer tends to take over a Sony owned franchise such as Ratchet & Clank, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance, God of War, and Jak & Daxter, those games tend to end up on the PSP. All the while the original developers (Insomniac, Media Molecule, SCE Santa Monica Studio, and Naughty Dog) continue with the main series on the PlayStation consoles.

If it's Sucker Punch making an actual Sly Cooper 4, as opposed a side studio like Ready at Dawn, High Impact Games, SCE Bend Studio, and SCE Cambridge Studio, making the equivalent of a side title, there is no way in hell that it's going to end up on the PSP. Same with Jak & Daxter, if Naughty Dog ends up making another game in the series, it's going to end up on the PS3.
 
My question is: how will they actually continue the story? From what I remember, other than Bentley's "time machine" comment, everything else seemed concluded and wrapped up.
 
Sly faked his amnesia, so it's likely they'll pick up and explain from there.

Yeah, but he did it to find an excuse to actually stay with Carmelita. He was sick of avoiding his feelings for her, and considering that he honored his heritage and protected his family's legacy and treasures, there was probably nothing else for him to do as a thief.

So, it will be very interesting to see what will make Sly leave his perfect life in order to become a thief again.

Just like how they've continued Jak and Daxters' story after Jak 3 with Jak X and Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier and how they are going to continue with Ratchet and Clanks' story after Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. You just go with it. Yeah, previous story threads are concluded and wrapped up, but you can still make more and more stories with them.
 
I have never played any of the games but I've heard they r good maybe it's time to pay a visit to blockbuster
