Honestly, I think the first weekend will be big, but after word of mouth gets around, it will plummet. But hey, X3 did decent at first.

I'm predicting:

Opening Weekend: 94
North America: 198
Worldwide: 385

And it still did well after.

Passed X2 by $20 Million and X1 by $77 Million.

20 millions compared to the budget? the whole opening weeked happend because of X2. so those 20 millions were from X2.

WOW.

So I guess BoxOfficeMojo should change X2's Domestic Gross from $215 Million to $235 Million.

:whatever:

Fans should go see this film twice in a row..
for one thing, to bulwark against the bootlegging that has the leaked version causing some to diss the film..

But what if they decide the movie sucks so bad that they regret watching it in theaters even once?

if the movie drops 50% in its second week and beyond, you'll have writers and studio insiders trying to say that it's a "flop"... the people inside Fox who want to wash their hands of the X-men franchise will have their trump card..

All the more reason not to watch it in theaters. Fox had their chance with X-Men, and what started out good has now turned to crap. If Fox washes their hands of the X-Men franchise it can only mean good things, since Marvel can get the rights back and start making good X-Men movies again.

The problem with this is that even if Wolverine disappoints financially, Fox will go ahead one last time with First Class. Now if that doesn't do well, then they may wash their hands of the X-Men universe. But your talking a few years from now at the least. Marvel is focused on The Avengers and the characters that comprise The Avengers and by the time they could get to a reboot of the X-Men franchise, your talking 10-15 years for them to get around to it.

I don't know about the bad word of mouth thing. 3 of my friends who aren't comic fans saw the leak and said they loved it and would see it in theaters.

Keep bashing, keep preaching.

In the end, if the film banks, you're still gonna keep complaining.

It just won't matter then just as it don't matter now.

So will you be happy if the movie makes money, even if it sucks?

If the first week of Fantastic Four 1 & 2 is big...then Wolverine will be bigger. If the first week of fast and furious is big, then Wolverine will be bigger. The first week will open big, what happens after that is dependent on the quality of the film and how enjoyable it is. But even with bad legs...it will still make plenty. Maybe not enough for a sequal, but we'll see.

... only the 2nd week, Star Trek hits theaters.. backed by Paramount no less (distributor of marvel's other hero films).. fanboy loyalties will be split..

i forget what else will be in theaters by the time that memorial day weekend comes around.. that might have even been a better date for Origins..

I'll be watching this 4 times on opening weekend, and everytime I watch it - I'll be surrounded with friends.

Wolverine II will happen.

:dry::dry::dry::dry:

I can see it make up to 250 million. Wolverine is very popular nowadays thanks to "Wolverine and the X-Men" and all the previous X-Men movies. This movie will do very well.

I wonder what you are going to rate this:dry:

:yay:

Let me shed some light on how I've rated other comic book movies; I've noticed alotta people do it in their sigs...

GREAT - TDK, X3, Sin City (The Hard Goodbye), X2, X1, The Incredible Hulk, Watchmen

GOOD - Batman (1989), Iron Man, Batman Begins, SM3, SM2, Spider Man, 300, The Punisher (2004), Batman Returns

FORGETTABLE - Superman Returns, Daredevil, Hulk, Fantastic Four, FF2, Hellboy, Hellboy II, Blade, Blade 2, Blade: Trinity, Superman: The Movie, Superman II, The Punisher (1989)

TERRIBLE - Punisher Warzone, The Spirit, Elektra, Ghost Rider, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Superman III, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace

TIH, X3, X1 > SM2, BB, IM WTF!? You thought X3 was great:dry: It was okay...no where near greatness. You will give this film a 100/10...which was my point.

Well of course it wont have that much competition. It will open number one with my guess, 70- 90 million. but then it will most likely get taken down to number two once Star Trek opens the next week

Everyone, let's discuss box office without the bickering.

TIH, X3, X1 > SM2, BB, IM WTF!?

Well, I can explain why The Incredible Hulk is a movie I prefer over Spider Man 2, Batman Begins and Iron Man.

I am a HUGE Edward Norton fan.

Now, does that mean I am blind to the movie's flaws because of Norton? No. I really feel its a great movie, a great movie that was squashed between two box office titans - so nobody cares about it.

It wasn't a popcorn movie like Iron Man and it wasn't a science fiction stageplay like SM2. It was a very honest Edward Norton paying homage to Bill Bixby's tragic take on Banner. For me TIH is more about Bruce than it is about the monster inside of him. Add to that - the slippery and mechanical portrayal of Ross provided by William Hurt.

The movie worked for me on many levels and left me 10 times more satisfied than Iron Man did some 6 weeks earlier. I only wish MARVEL hadn't ruined the ending with that pointless Tony Stark insert :whatever:

Iron Man was a good film, but it felt too much like popcorn for me. Favreau went too light for my taste.

Spider Man 2 was just pure formula. Alfred Molina just added fuel to that fire with his immense over-acting. I really liked the movie because I was already fully invested in Peter's story from the first film, but I began to feel the genericness too much. Once again - "formula".

My problem, my only problem with Batman Begins - is the third act.

It drags, it has too much going on and its a huge departure from the very epic first act - courtesy of Liam Neeson's unmatchable speeches.

X3 and X1 are just great movies to me. Since I don't look at them with a grudge regarding the changes they made to the source material - I REALLY like them. Jackman is like a wildfire in X1, reminiscent of Steve McQueen in The Magnificent Seven. Something big waiting to happen. X3 simply redefined epic movies for me. I left the theatre extremely satisfied.

You thought X3 was great:dry: It was okay...no where near greatness. You will give this film a 100/10...which was my point.

Its possible, yes.

Sometimes I wonder how some of these "hated" movies would go down in history if it wasn't for people negatively bashing them in an unfair and cruel ways. X3 was a pretty good movie. I think most of you just are blinded and have gotten use to bashing it.
But in my opinion I thought Incredible Hulk was Awesome. Much better then X3, Spiderman 2, but I think I still like Iron Man better.
