It's common knowledge by now that Joker and his goons wear clown masks, each represented as one of the seven dwarfs (Happy, Dopey, Grumpy...). As far as we know, the masks are worn during the bank robbery sequence as well as the scene at Bruce Wayne's penthouse.
However, could there be a deeper meaning to the masks? Could they play an important part in the story--even as a symbolic device? Is Joker really permawhite?
In the tradition of SuperHeroHype over-analysis, I present to you...
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Yet Another BubbaGump Theory Thread (How does he come up with these things??)
Practically everyone has seen or read the story as children, but for those who need refreshing, go no further than Snow White's wiki article.

Now the story proves very interesting. In TDK, the queen can be represented by the Mob or more specifically: Sal Maroni, who is jealous or threatened by Joker's rapid rise through the Gotham underworld (Snow White's beauty).
Wanting to get rid of this threat, Maroni hires someone to kill Joker.
For the sake of continuity, I like all my threads to tie in to each other ...

As you can see, Maroni may plant a traitor to kill Heath Ledger (as shown in the link).
However (and this is a big however), in the story, the dwarfs SAVE Snow-White countless times. The Joker's goons may help him out after he gets shot, and would also help him wreak revenge on the mob for scarring him.
Now this is all speculation, but I thought it had some interesting connections. Then again, it could all turn out to just be bogus imaginative thinking and a tendency to overanalyze and butcher things to death brought on by a lack of TDK news.
But the biggest question of all remains...could Joker really be "Snow White" as in...Perma-white?
Mirror, mirror, on the wall...

The Queen was jealous, and ordered a huntsman to take Snow White into the woods to be killed. She demanded that the huntsman return with Snow White's heart as proof. The huntsman took Snow White into the forest, but found himself unable to kill the girl. Instead, he let her go, and brought the queen the heart of a young deer or a pig.
