Im surprised many people have said to hate it yeah there was a few things that could have been improved but it was a good movie.

Also in my sig now is that link to my profile on youtube, be sure to check it out. :)

yeah dude, we already got a thread promoting your stuff.

I loved it. There just better be an extended version released on DVD, is all I can say!

I'll vote for "Loved it" under the impression that the poll isn't on a scale of 1 - 5.

Because though "Loved it" is the highest opinion on the poll, this movie wasn't a 5 / 5. It's more like a 4 / 5, but that's better than just "Liked it"

What this movie did right, it did amazingly right. Beast, Magneto, a better Storm, Cyclops' reaction towards Jean's death, the final battle, and even Kitty Pryde (anyone remember all the bashing of her that I did before the movie? Yea, I actually really enjoyed her character in the film)

However, what the movie did wrong, it did horribly wrong. The lack of Cyclops in the Phoenix Saga, and killing him off, making Wolverine Jean's savior instead of Cyclops, and hardly any payoff for the big flashback introduction for Angel. Angel was essentially just a glorified cameo. When the X-Men went into the final battle, and Angel overheard them talking about Alcatraz (knowing his father was there), he should have approached the X-Men to ask to fight with them, so he could protect his father. They could give him a uniform, and he could fight with the team.

Overall, the movie is a 4 / 5. It's awesome. And even the stuff they got wrong, still they made work within the movies to make sense.

But they still got stuff wrong, big stuff, not just minor details like the first 2, and that held it back.

I still think that X3 is so average that it's breaking recordings at medicority.

yeah i agree it did things wrong, angel shouldnt have been in the film and the place where they take the cure should be some random place.

multiple man, pyslock, colosus shouldnt have been in the film because they didnt have enough screentime

I'm not worried about Multiple Man, Psylocke, or Colossus.

The only problem I have with Angel's role, is the buildup they gave it. Both in the advertising, and in the whole giving him a flashback to intro the movie. You think that someone who gets a flashback intro like that would be a bit more vital to the story.

yeah i see what you mean it was a great intro for angel, i dont care much for psylocke or multiple man much either but i wish colosus was in it more

the visuals were good but the story was ... ick.

its not really "alright" with me, since i liked and disliked it in equal measure :O

I disliked it. It had all the necessary parts to make an outstanding movie, but the execution was simply poor.

i felt it was lacking...it was average..ok..and thats what really disappointed me. the action sequences were fine, no major problems there (although the whole "wolverine appears from behind the sentinals head" thing still looked daft.), and the pandering to halle berry was obvious (leave the school to storm? Isnt there more chance that, as written, beast would have stepped up?)
the stand around looking moody pheonix didnt work for me either., but i thought the whole kitty v juggernaut race worked superbly well, the same with the whole lift the bridge bit. i would have had magneto crush the car with the kids in it tho.
I dont have a problem with Juggernaut throwing wolverine into the grey household....just showed him up as an idiot.

and it was 1/2 hr too short, imo. would have felt more flowing that way

to put it simply, Im not gonna see in the theatres again, unlike X1 and X2.

It would ahve been better if it had been 30 mins longer to give some of the underused charcters-rogue,cyclops,mystigue,colossus more scenes.Plus they really over did storm and wolverine and if wolvy whined about jean one more time I was going to slap him.

Last Wednesday I would have said that I disliked it or hated it. Now? I just... think it's alright. And that's almost worse than hating it. So very mediocre.

Same logic.

I just thought it was a goodish movie that had the potential to be great but they dropped the ball.

it pees all over the standards set by x2. Like the sentinel, we only get the head, no body. Beast was good though so I give it a dislike.

My family and I really enjoyed it.

With that said, however, I think Storm kinda sucked (what was with the hair?) and I was dissappointed with Rogue's and Angel's role in the movie. I enjoyed picking out a lot of the underdeveloped mutants (How could you go into all the characters?). Why was the Beast in a government position? And why in the heck were there only 6 X-men going to fight???

But I think there were some great scenes. The one with Jean Grey on the table (sooooo SEXY!). The multiple man decoy, the danger room (loved the part where Colossus put his hand on Rogues head to protect here and share his powers); and I really enjoyed magneto's interception of the truck carrying Mystique and the others. Kitty Pryde was cool, I still like Hugh as Wolverine and Pyro had a pretty decent role. The scene in the beginning showing a young Angel trying to rid himself of his wings was pretty touching.

That's my opinion. I don't think we wasted a cent on movie tickets.

..............And I think they totally left it open for an X4.

The last 20 minutes were great, but it seemed like up til then they had no idea what to do with the rest of the movie. It's a shame it wasn't longer as well, and that so many mutants got shafted on screen time. This movie actually DID make me sick of Wolverine, but all in all, and I've thought about this alot, it was still a pretty cool movie and a good one. And since it is a X-Men movie, then I really liked it. However if they do want to continue this franchise, I strongly would consider bringing Singer back or someone new to the fold. Oh, and no more Wolverine and friends...

It was a decent movie, but yeah, the focus on Wolverine and the shafting of characters like Cyclops and Angel take it down several notches to me. I'd envision Wolverine's solo mission to find Jean as a great opportunity to have him and Cyclops together. If the writers had any imagination, they could have had some great banter between them as they're going through the forest. I wouldn't have minded Wolverine still being the one who kills Jean at the end, because at that point, she was pretty far gone. Cyclops would have only been about to get so close, and she'd have just shut off his optic blast like she did at Alkali Lake.

I actually loved how they reimagined the Phoenix, 'cause even if they did two movies for it, I wouldn't have wanted all the outer space, Shi-Ar crap. In the context of the comic, it's all good, but I honestly wouldn't have cared for it in movie form. It'd have been tantamount to the third Ninja Turtles movie where they incorporate mystical time travel. Yeah, a realize I'm talking about a comic series about mutated anthropomorphic turtles, but beyond that, there was a realistic grounding to it. And furthermore, The Dark Phoenix was always more interesting, so you could skip all the good Phoenix crap. Just go right for evil Jean! I liked that it made Xavier seem somewhat manipulative, 'cause I'd have gotten tired of them portraying the man as nothing but perfect. And I liked that there was a hint of conflict between him and Wolverine. For the most part, the handling of Jean really made the film for me.

Also, Kelsey Grammer as Beast was just brilliant casting. I know we've all probably said it numerous times already, but I can't stress it enough.

I loved it.I didn't like that the movie did lack many things like character devolpment and so fourth.Devolpment for like Cyclops, Angel & maybe Rogue.Storm, Wolverine, Beast, and Magneto probably came out best as their character. The SFX was were great, you can tell a nice chunk of the $210 budget went to.

Overall, the movie is good and I'm quite pleased with Ratner's work:up:

I think X1 and X2 were BETTER movies, but much more boring. I thought X3 was a BAD MOVIE, but not really boring at all. I've had enough of Hugh's Wolverine. I'd love to see a 5'3" ugly mother ****er playing Wolverine in his own movie, not a 6'3" nominee for sexiest man alive. Cyclops was treated like absolute garbage. Nobody in the audience OR in the X-Men cared about his death. Jean never said anything about loving him. Storm took over his position BEFORE he died, just so the audience wouldn't say "Well, she really ISN'T the leader when Xavier is gone". It was just handled so textbook for a studio. Scott and Jean will stay dead because Fox is done w/ Marsden and Famke is too old. Wolverine will get a spin off. Xavier can be played by a different actor for a "young X-Men" movie, McKellen can now make an appearance in his "Magneto" movie, etc. When somebody died, they only stayed dead if Fox was done with them, and if they lost their powers, they got them back if the character could be used again down the line. Colossus had no screen time and like 3 lines of dialogue, the wire work was so hard to watch, Magneto's henchmen were terribly lame, and Storm completely sucked as she helped Wolverine hog all of what should have been Cyclops' lines. The good things: Magneto (perfect), Pyro (nothing like the comic version, but I still really wanted him to kick 90210 Iceman's ass, Cyclops (before the entire lake scene), Angel (before the anticlimactic end), and Beast... because I laughed at his makeup every time I saw him. I saw on the front page that most people gave this a 10 out of 10. I think Fox could send an executive, he'd tell us to put our hands together, we'd do it, and he'd take a huge, long crap in them. We wouldn't notice how gross or was or how bad it stank, we'd jsut be thrilled because the crap spelled out: "X-Men"
