Well, on the bright side he known to be a huge Thor fan, other than that I'll just have to wait and see what he comes up with. As long as it is dark I would be happy. We don't want a Superman meets ER.

It was reported that he was writing a script for in 2005 and that was the Truth. So whatever happens it will be based on his original story.

Goyer did say later on he wouldn't able to write it. Saying he didn't have time. I wonder if he is going to write with Mark Protosevich, or come up with something new.

I hope he gives us a script of Batman Begins caliber, as opposed to Blade 3. :o

Hopefully he will have someone guiding him like he did on BB

^ But he also did Begins.

It's not like Simon Kinberg or Zak Penn are writing this. ;)

Thor now has a chance of being good!

Goyer writing Thor could have been good. Goyer directing Thor might not have been good.

My Internet is screwed up so can somebody check this link please it was posted yesrertday.

http://www.comics2film.com/FanFrame.php?f_id=20740Synopsis: Straczynski noted that it had just been announced that David Goyer is writing a treatment for the Thor movie.

I would way prefer Goyer working on this than Protosevich. At least Goyer has worked on two good films (Batman Begins and Dark City) opposed to Protosevich who hasnt worked on any (The Cell and Poseidon)

Although to be fair the better films that Goyer has written have always had someone else working on the screenplay with him.

As long as he's only writing then I have high hopes. But if he so much as looks at the directors chair, then god help us. :O

Is there a director attached to the project at this time?

I just wonder who they could find to play comic book Thor who would have the acting ability as well as the physique.

And what storyline would we be following....

OH GOD NO! LOL

Goyer and Mark would have been nice. They are both Thor fans, they would know the material.

Here' wat Mark Postsevich says about the THor Movie to get an idea of what the story will and style:http://www.comics2film.com/FanFrame.php?f_id=19152

"In the comics, the stories that appealed to me most were the features called 'Tales of Asgard,' " CAA-repped Protosevich said. "They were very much based on the traditional Norse myths and how the relationship between being like Thor and Loki and Thor and Odin, and how these beings manifested themselves. I don't want to give too much away, but I will say the movie will take place in the world of myth and legend but will not betray some of the thematic elements of the comics that made them so appealing, like the idea of a god growing to truly understand man."
---

This movie is also gonna be a Lord of the Rings type movie it has been rumored. So I think it might be a far cry from the comics.....

Yah it does sound good. But it seems like Donald Blake will not be in the movie but it wil be more of happeneing in Asgard. That sounds good.

I hope they end it with Odin turning Thor into a Human and than for it to be continued. That would be goood. :)

Superman meets ER. lmao

good one Still A ThorFan

That sucks.
I was looking forward to Goyer's writing. Oh well. :(

So Goyer's not writting it?

Thanks God, Goyer is not writting Thor.....

Goyer should stop writting comic book adaptations for a few year, say...80?? :o :p

That sounds very good to me, BUT DAMN IT MAKE IT DARK!
What´s with comic book fans wanting every single comic book movie to be "dark"?
What is to be dark anyway?
To be set at night?
The sun has exploded?
What???

See, this is where a movie has all the potential to be a piece of crap and a huge failure, more even than to be great...
In the comics, the stories that appealed to me most were the features called 'Tales of Asgard'....but will not betray some of the thematic elements of the comics.
First, this is not about what stories most appealed to him, is about Thor....either you get it, or you don´t.
Second, will not betray some of the thematic....SOME??
You are betraying the comics as you speak, by saying that you will had SOME of the comic book elements.
So, basicaly, this is not a Thor movie, but rather, what Mr. Postsevich wanted Thor to be.

Over a year and a half ago, Avi Arad seemingly confirmed David Goyer as the writer for a forthcoming THOR movie before Goyer Bean denied his own involvement in that capacity, at least for the time being. Since then, Mark Protosevich (THE CELL, POSEIDON, and the upcoming I AM LEGEND and JOHN CARTER OF MARS) was tapped to bang out a screenplay but word now comes from Newsarama that J. Michael Straczynski, on a Marvel panel at Charlotte's Heroes Convention 2006, spoke of a recent announcement that Goyer is, in fact, currently writing a treatment for the movie. Whether Protosevich's script has been completely scrapped or Goyer is just rewriting it remains to be announced.

Asked about what Marvel movies he’s looking forward to, Quesada said that while he can’t wait for Spider-Man 3, he’s very excited about Jon Favreau’s take on Iron Man, noting how enthusiastic the director is for the film, and how he’s looking to work with fans on it. Straczynski noted that it had just been announced that David Goyer is writing a treatment for the Thor movie.
