So yeah, I got another tattoo and I need your opinions

Well, when you look at a tattoo artists work you see what he's best at. I bet that guy doesn't have any flowers on his wall at all. Or if he does they don't look that great. It seems his strengths aren't in drawing flowers. What type of stuff does he have on his wall or in his books? You should always go with the artists strengths.

I'm wondering how many 13 year old posters on here are now going insane because they're seeing an older chick's tat on her leg.

No, his flowers are pretty amazing. There's was even a girl in there that had a group of flowers on her arm that he did and they were all amazing. :csad:

I guess it does look a lot better in person than in the pictures. The shading really isn't that bad and the colors are better looking too. I know it'll soften up more after its healed, because they always do, so maybe I'll like it more then...I hope I will anyway. :csad: If not, I'm sure I can go back and get the shading fixed.

How were his other flowers compared to your tat? If they were subtantially better then my guess is that the dude is pretty hit or miss on his art.

It's hard to say really. They were done in the same style and they were all very nice, well-done pieces. All of his **** is, that's why I don't know if its just me or what.

lol...its probably just you then. I'm sure it looks fine in person and I seriously doubt that any guy would say, "Wassup baby...OMGWTFBBQROFLSPOONS, whats up with the ****ed up flower?"

The only person who really needs to like it is you, X-Chick. Period. Sounds like you've been bitten by the ink bug, though.

when In an x-chick thread I always feel like I'm being lied to.

Tattoos scream trailer trash to me.

I will give the artists that create them their due. They are obviously talented at making body art. That said, I think a majority of people (not all), but a good share, definitely have that trash vibe going on when I see them with a tattoo.

Besides, while it may look good to you now, think how it will look when you're in your 60's or 70's.

Maybe its just me or because it hurts like hell, but I really don't like it at this point. The picture sucks pretty bad because its hard to take a picture of your own leg, so you'll have to excuse the center of it which got all the flash. And give me honest opinions, because I need to know if its just me having buyer's remorse or something or if it really looks like **** and I need to go get it fixed.

Also, keep in mind it was supposed to look a little more like this.
that looks like the join point of 3 siamese triplet girls joined at the vagina

ahahahahahahaha

it's alright.
it's hard to believe that the work was done by the same guy, but some people are just more skilled at color than they are at gray/shading and vice versa.
i know a LOT of people don't like mine, they think it's shoddy work, but they don't understand that my artist did it EGG-ZACTLY the way Sam Kieth did, so i am VERY pleased.
**** what anyone else says, if YOU don't like it, then get it improved.
if you do, right on mah dear.

To be honest with you it doesn't look anything like the pic. When the tattoo artist stenciled it onto your leg, before he started to out lined it with black ink, did you look at it..?

I don't like it all that much, but then I've always prefered ink in greyscale.

However, my bug's ink looked bad when she first had it done, and began to look better when it healed, so you'll probably be ok.

I might be getting another one done after easter, if I can't give blood for a while because I've been on holiday. Gotta work out which of my list of future tattoos I most wanna get.

I don't think I'm really going to care what I look like when I'm 60 or 70. Legs don't really get wrinkled anyway.

Its not supposed to be the same exact thing as the picture, just the same type of flower. I was using that more as a reference to the colors.

Also, I didn't want the exact same thing as in the picture, its just supposed to be the same kind of flower. :o
Well I think going into a tattoo parlour and asking for 'some kind of flower' is a bit daft, so it's no wonder the guy stuck to the picture you gave him, as he can just play safe with that.

I think it looks nice enough, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over the fact that people can't read your mind.

As far as sharpness goes, there is a world of difference from the flowers to the pheonix. Its not a terrible tat, it just looks like you've had it for a couple of years and it needed to be touched up.

Gotcha

But still, did you look at it after he/she drew it?

What in the hell are you talking about?

I never gave him that picture you fool. Like I already said, I only posted it here so everyone would know what a stargazer lily should look like. And do you think he did it freehand or something? Don't be stupid, its actually a flash piece, so he didn't draw it. It looked great after the outlining, even better after adding the gray, crappy when he added the color.
