can you get a tattoo over scar tissue?

I have an 11 inch scar up my back from spinal surgery and figured it would be cool to get a lizard/dragon up my back with the scar at the centre.

Would this work or can it cause complications?

it can be done, but how well it turns out depends on the artist and the scar.

It's a ridge up my back about 4 millimetres off the surface and 11 inches long. I figured it could work by running it along the spine of the lizard/dragon, sort of like a 3D tattoo

I never gave him that picture you fool. Like I already said, I only posted it here so everyone would know what a stargazer lily should look like. And do you think he did it freehand or something? Don't be stupid, its actually a flash piece, so he didn't draw it. It looked great after the outlining, even better after adding the gray, crappy when he added the color.

Well that's a little bit worse, isn it? Not taking in the design you want? I just think that going into to get a tattoo without at least a photo or print out of exactly what you want is totally daft, unless you trust the artist implicitly.

Must you be such a spastic? If you don't post the picture of what you actually wanted how are any of us supposed to know if he cocked it up or not? You can't just put up a picture of something else and say "it's supposed to look a bit like that" and then call people morons when they infer that that was what you wanted.

Because the issue at hand is the way its colored. The image of the lily shows how those flowers are colored. And I've already stated that a few times. And I would gladly post the picture if I could, but I don't exactly have a ton of tattoo flash handy.

Maybe its just me or because it hurts like hell, but I really don't like it at this point. The picture sucks pretty bad because its hard to take a picture of your own leg, so you'll have to excuse the center of it which got all the flash. And give me honest opinions, because I need to know if its just me having buyer's remorse or something or if it really looks like **** and I need to go get it fixed.

Also, keep in mind it was supposed to look a little more like this.
