I have seen an image of a huge spoiler and I really wish I hadn't. Be careful if you are trying to avoid spoilers.

I'm sure she's just happy she got to keep her job from the first movie and the studio didn't pull a classic Hollywood move of replacing her with a bigger name.

See, this is why I was so delighted when I found out Pete Ploszek got to voice his own character, Leonardo (and maintain his mo-cap performance) in the Ninja Turtles sequel; Out of the Shadows compared to having Johnny Knoxville replace his voice performance during post-production of the first Turtles movie from 2014.

Overall I'm looking forward to the movie and I'm glad they're retaining the talent from the first Sonic movie

I wonder how many encounters Sonic and Knuckles have? It’s looking like at least 2 from footage so far. I love Knuckles but hope Sonic gives a good account of himself in at least the re-match a season the initial encounter looks like a stomp.

I remember feeling the same way when Doug Jones got to voice Abe Sapien in Hellboy II after his voice was dubbed by David Hyde Pierce in the first movie.

To be fair to Paramount, they did drop a few "teasers" in Feb that had enough new footage to be considered a "new" trailer.

Just for fun, I went looking back at the redesigned Sonic from the first film and the design from this film.

Even though the redesign from the 2020 film is great, much of the actual VFX definitely look like they were being worked on just a few months out and right up until the film’s release. There are a lot of parts of the film where the Sonic model doesn’t quite look like part of the scene and the lighting doesn’t match up. His character movements also look a little off and stiff in some parts, probably from the animators not having more time to work on it and just trying to get it finished in time. The only times where the model really works is in the night scenes and in the hotel room, where the darkness/dimness provides a lot of contrast with his environment and makes it pop.

Compared to that, the design in this film, just going by the footage released so far, looks very much improved. The eyes look a bit different, possibly slightly smaller, and actually reflect his surroundings better and cast off light. The fur is definitely better, as well as how it interacts with the environment (i.e.— wind, light and other elements). The tan fur on his face and belly look a bit lighter in color. His motion looks more natural. He even looks part of the daytime scenes now. Looks like Tyson Hesse took the last minute design from the last film and tweaked and refined it a bit more for the animators to go off of.

Definitely benefits from having the design pretty locked down from the start and the animators having a lot more post production time to really get it right.

Colleen being featured in these posters means we are likely going to see her be a prominent voice on the interview circuit when promotion ramps up full speed if it hasn't happened already.
