The Amazing Spider-Man Sony Considering Christoph Waltz for the villain?

Pretty cool news if it turns out to be true.

Let's not jump to conclusions.
I'm not jumping to conclusions, it's called an informed assessment.

A terrible one trick pony actor, plus an even worse "superhero" mixed in with a bad director and bad supporting cast is going to give you a terrible movie.

The Chameleon could be good if done right

i agree, he can be an industrial saboteur, and a russian spy, maybe they can adapt his first appearance, when he tried to steal information about america's nuclear power? but, because the cold war is over, they can replace it with oscorp tech and not for the soviets, but for a hirer (roderick kingsley?)/personal means, and gets catched by spidey and sent to jail?

also, waltz would be an awesome doc ock! if he would be casted as otto...

I'm more excited that they are using lizard than I am about any actor they are going to choose although I would have preferred dylan baker as he deservd his shot after waiting patiently for 2 movies.

I wanted him for Ock.

But Connors would certainly suffice .

I could picture him in the sunglasses and tentacles. He would make a terrific Doc Ock.

:otto:

I honestly have never seen this guy in anything, but from what I'm hearing I guess he's a good actor.

Personally I hope they opt for two villains in every film, benchmark from Batman Begins and Dark Knight, where it could all work.

This guy? I can see him as Doc Ock.

But I hope Lizard and Kraven film 1. Green Goblin and Doc Ock film 2 anyone? Could that work? You know how incredibly bad-ass that would be?

He'd be a great choice. I'd like to see him as more than Connors, because Lizard would likely be mostly CGI. I think an actor of his calibre would be wasted as being CGI 3/4s of the film.

I'd like to see him as Doc Ock personally.

I'm surprised he has so much support for Ock. I find him far too old and thin for the role.

You seriously can't see him as this:

No, actually. I don't know if you guys have seen him in comparison to others, but he's really small. In width and in height.

I've always imagined Ock to be on the pudgy side, or at the very least, stocky. This is ignoring the fact that I don't even think he looks like the character.

Stocky version of Ock is not always used. In fact he wasn't even stocky in his first appearance:

It was Romita that made him stocky after Ditko left. Not that I think Doc Ock is going to be the villain, or that Waltz will be playing Norman Osborn, because I think they're going for a villain not seen in the previous franchise.

I agree, he is probably a villain we have yet to see. But, I think Waltz is too talented to waste, so I'd rather he be one of Spidey's best villains. I think he would be best for Doc Ock, so I'm hoping that is who he is.

Like I said, making him Connors only to not be in the film as a person for 3/4's of a movie is a serious waste of his talent.

I know right? I seriously doubt Ock, or even Octavious will be in this film. Although I wouldn't mind Octavious making an appearance. But it would be a waste if he only appeared in a small role. But if he is up for Connors, let's see if he can play a not so bad guy. Connors isn't evil, he just had good intentions and he screwed up. The Lizard is the bad guy.

Doc Ock or The Vulture. I don't think he'll be Connors, you don't just go from wanting Fassbender to Waltz for a specific role as Connors, the look is all wrong.

This is the Villain cast I want (excluding Flash of course):

And I don't think they'll use Ock for the first or second but use at all? I think so.
I would love it if Hugh Laurie got Doc Conners and Christoph, Otto

I'm 80% sure that Nolan will give Hardy a role in B3 so Sony have zero chance of landing him.

He's either Curt Connors or Norman Osborn, almost no doubt in my mind.

I think Curt Connors is probably the best guess, given they are using Vandy's Script at the moment and announcing this guy as a villain. Which in my mind eliminates GG(unless they decide to go the Kingsley route)... so he's not Norman Osborn.

Waste of his talents if he's going to be Connors. I'd rather see him as Ock. They should get someone else for the role of Connors.

Green Hornet is a ass of property to begin with and doesn't deserve to be made into a movie. But you can't tell that to Hollywood.
