The Amazing Spider-Man Sony Considering Christoph Waltz for the villain?

Or the geniuses that think Seth Rogen would make an action movie awesome...ugh that laugh: "uyugh uyugh yugh yugh yugh."

I'm surprised people think Ock is gonna be in this movie. Even Norman Osbourne is questionable.

I think that Molina's Ock was great overall. I don't care for another revisit when a dude like Green Goblin needs a serious reboot makeover.

Spiderman reboot = 80 million and 3D
I have no idea how they going to make this movie.
This means no special effects...

Goblin should be in 2. movie and Lizard in 3rd because its suck when you kill main charater in first movie...

Waltz is going to make only 1 movie. This means if they make Lizard, then dr Curt dies.
Um... how many conclusions did you just jump to in one post?

I really can't see just The Lizard as the sole villain. I mean, Lizard is big time Spider-Man villain wise, but movie wise, I can't see him holding his own. Lizard and Kraven or Electro or someone would make more sense.

I just don't feel like seeing Ock or Goblin back right away. Maybe in the sequel. Do someone new.

The majority of this film will apparently be his origin so Lizard could work as a sole villain, not sure if I'd want him to though.

I can't hope they don't redo the origin.Everyone knows his origin by now. They should just jump right into the plot.I'm also hoping the first villain isn't a redo. That would be lame.

Zack Snyder's Sucker punch has the same reported budget and look at the trailer,here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQmvkvgMs6Q

Still sure that 80 mil budget equals no special effects?

Stylistic special effects are cheaper to do that realistic special effects.

^Very true. I had no idea this movie only had a budget of only $80 Million. I don't get it, these movies bring in so much. Why are Sony being cheap?

It costs quite a bit to shoot in 3D too.

They're being cheap because they know its not gonna gross as much as the first Spiderman film due to it being a reboot. Plus its makes a reboot a less risker investment.

I don't think I ever said I though Ock would be in the movie. I'm just saying if you asked me who I personally would cast Waltz as, I'd cast him as Ock.

You guys would of been disappointed anyway.

Waltz is Austrian and his american accent isn't up to par. Plus we wouldn't want Waltz to become the new Mark Strong! Give us a fresh actor as a villain.

So "a great actor will have the role when it's announced"? Does that mean they already have the role cast or are close to it?

And Sony hasn't debunked Lizard as the villain, looks like a good bet that he's in.

hey, maybe... Waltz can be a pretty decent, older Kraven? think about it, in the comics, Kraven is pretty old (something like 70 years old) because he keeps living off herbs, so it could work... but i'm still pushing for Waltz-Chameleon... think of a mix of vincent cassel's character in oceans 12/13, and the villain in salt. other choices for Chameleon can be:

-Karl Urban (IDK, someone suggested him)
-Vincent Cassel (he's great with cunning, intellegent and evil characters)
-Mads Mikkelsen (a great actor and very chameleon-like in casino royale, he even kinda looks like smerdyakov... IDK if it's a compliment, but he can use it)
-Paul Bettany

Yeah, and so many were sure Lerman was in and we got Garfield. (better choice btw.)

I hadn't thought of Mads for Chameleon that would be a great choice.
Fiennes or Mads for Chameleon

No Doc Ock. You don't start a reboot off with a villain who's already been used. It hasn't even been 10 years since he was in a movie. It should be someone who hasn't been used.

I somewhat agree. If they make Lizard keep his intelligence then I can see him holding his own movie, but not if they just make him a rampaging beast. There's needs to be interaction between the hero and villain and you probably won't get much of that with Lizard if all he does is roar and hiss.

This made me laugh out loud, I dunno why but it really got me

Thank you, you just made my day :D I am no longer even slightly concerned about that whole silly budget thing.

Agreed about the budget, it has given me a little faith at least :yay:

Filming is in a few months, still waiting on this one
