Spider-man 3.1 finally?!

So for every "x" minutes added back in we get x minutes +2 cut out.

There was word that the cut shown to critics was 15 minutes longer.

Very doubtful they added back in 15 and cut 17. So this must be a case of adding back in around 5 minutes and cutting 7???

Clearly, if you cut out the parts where Peter is acting a fool it really only comes to a few minutes. What do you guys think are candidates for cutting out?

Besides folks simply hating that hey used Venom the way they did, and the parts where Peter acts like a clown -- what other stuff was disliked and ripe for trimming.

It is also listed on this site, for what it's worth:

If it was true, I'd be curious as to whether Sony got Raimi to come back recently, or if this was a project prepared during development for SM4. The latter would seem more likely to me, because anniversary or not this seems like an odd time to start working on this.

File this away under "I'll believe it when I see it."

^Yep, I'm reading it in black and white and still don't really believe it.
It jusy.magically appears with zero fanfare on a Japanese site.

Peter strutting to James Brown has to stay. I love that scene so much and I don't even know why.

I hope we get the scene with Sandman and the doctor, the sandcastle scene with Eddie joining/blackmailing him to join him in place of Venom just swinging around and finding Sandman, and Sandman's wife and child showing up at the final battle to make him stop fighting.

That stuff would probably help round out Sandman's actions a bit better because his motivation just feels like they show us once in the beginning then just constantly tell us that's why he's doing what he's doing.

I hope the jazz club scene is cut down but I don't see how it could be lol.

There was a line from Mary Jane, "We've all done terrible things to each other, but we have to forgive each other. Or everything we ever were will mean nothing." It was used in a lot of trailers but was ultimately cut from the film.

Hey henz, did you make the Spider-Man 3.1 Facebook page? I posted this news story on the wall. The page also has a nice collection of what the deleted scenes from the movie were. Everyone check it out.

Many thanks! Some of my deleted scene knowledge is hazy. I hope they can restore the John Jameson shuttle crash (if that was even filmed, I don't know).

Maybe?

I think due to Gwen originally being the damsel in distress in the script's climax. MJ was supposed to pep talk Harry into helping Peter stop Sandman and Venom. But that got scrapped for the deus ex machina with the butler's revelation to Harry of his knowledge of Norman's (Harry and Peter's for that matter) secret identity and cause of death.

No problem :)

Unfortunately, I don't think it was ever filmed. The shuttle crash would have been an amazing, amazing action sequence to see on film, it would have been too big and too expensive for them to just remove it from the movie if it was made.

Sadly, I think the lame "coincidental asteroid landing" is all we got.

I did, however a couple of months into the petition I shared admin priviledges with another user who imediately booted me from it. Great little FB swindle that was. I can't update the page with any recent developments sadly.

Cheers for posting it though. A walk down memory lane.

That's a real shame. I wish we could've got more of John Jameson.

So much potential... ARGGGH, I hate that this is really unlikely to happen.

^^ Less than 2 months until release and that is all we have to go on. It could just be a mistake. You'd expect someone to announce this if it was actually happening.

A mistake makes little sense. A place like Amazon gets it's product info from legitimate sources. I could believe a product description being duplicated from another release (happens a lot on Amazon), but this clearly ain't one of those times.

The repetition of the "3.1" title in the description, along with marketing blurbs that talk about it in more detail precludes it from being fake or a mistake. Now, Japan exclusive? Planned for this release but then pulled? Those would make sense and are possible.

But for the info to be completely wrong? No conceivable chance. This isn't some kind of rumor. It's from a legit source. Keep in mind that these boxed sets haven't been officially announced yet (Except for Japan, it seems), and the info we do have about the US/EU/CA versions of these boxed sets line up with that Japanese product description (same number of discs, same collection names). As far as these things go, it's prettymuch a lock.

America is getting 2 Digibook Collections.

This won't be an exclusive to just one store or the other but Wal-Mart.com was the first to put it up. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Spider-Man-Origins-Collection-Blu-ray/55765730

Trying to make out that fourth disc. It looks Sandman-ish. The title also says Spider-Man 3, not 3.1.

Also, the picture on the disc for Spider-Man 1 is from Spidey 2. Maybe none of these covers are final.
